We built our gorgeous log home in a picture-perfect setting, nestled along historical route M-119 (also known as the famous Tunnel of Trees) overlooking beautiful Lake Michigan just north of the charming downtown areas of Harbor Springs and Petoskey. After many months of searching, we selected a private and quiet location with a long winding driveway and gently sloping sand dunes to the tranquil beach. If you prefer a peaceful setting with no road noise from vehicles on M-119, just the sounds of wildlife and waves from the lake, than this is the place for your vacation!

Our home is filled with beautiful wooden cabinetry, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, accompanied by wood and tile flooring. It's professionally decorated, includes Pottery Barn furnishings, has both indoor and outdoor real fieldstone fireplaces, a cottage dining table with handcrafted benches by a local artist and numerous other upgrades. It sleeps six people, with a queen bed in each of the three bedroom suites.(Click 'More Details' below:)

If you enjoy spectacular sunsets, you'll love the grand outdoor log living area (our favorite part of the house) with a built-in grill, awesome wood burning fieldstone fireplace and deluxe comfortable seating! It's the best place to enjoy spectacular sunsets along the entire Lake Michigan shoreline! As an added bonus, you'll enjoy the unbelievable night time star gazing and the lighthouses that dot the horizon!

If you love to bike ride, M-119 is a popular destination for bicycling enthusiasts. If you like to ride motorcycles, this historical trail is a popular route as well.

Nearby you'll find the quaint towns of Good Hart and Cross Village, with famous Legs Inn as a dining option. Plus, for a step back in time as cars are forbidden, where bikes and horse drawn carriages are the preferred mode of transportation, picturesque Mackinac Island is a simple 30 minute drive from our cottage.

We lived in the Lake Fenton, Michigan, area for many years, attended CMU & U of M, love the Harbor Springs to Cross Village shoreline and historical M-119 (Tunnel of Trees) for bicycling.

Our long-term dream was to have a cottage in the Harbor Springs vicinity, be on Lake Michigan and to have a handcrafted log home! Our new lakefront log home is used as a place for family and friends to gather and we hope you'll make it a family tradition to visit here and create memories, too.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage was designed with view in mind, with the largest windows possible to enjoy the scenic hill, woods, and fabulous Lake Michigan with lighthouses along the horizon. The inside is a combination of luxury and cozy comfort. The most popular area to enjoy the property, dine, watch wildlife, and visit with family/friends is the outdoor living area with the amazing fireplace!
