Overview

Errol Cabin Rental Photos and Description

3 bedroom, 1 bathroom with shower stall, sleeps 6, pet friendly

Located at the end of the road, it's very private & quiet. It overlooks Stump Cove, which is un-swimmable. Akers Pond, however, is easily accessed by kayak or small boat or a short walk to one of it's public beaches. Included for use are two kayaks, an aluminum row boat and a paddle boat. There are plenty of life preservers available for use while boating. Relax on the deck to enjoy fabulous mountain views as well as wildlife. You'll be certain to hear the soothing call of the loons during the season.

Winter season offers great activities, as well. One highlight is that you can hit the trail with your snowmobile directly from the cabin.

A sunroom, with a sliding door to the deck, faces the cove. There are two tvs with 'satellite', one in the living room and one in the first floor bedroom. The first floor bedroom has a queen sized bed. The second floor has two bedrooms, one has a full sized bed, the other has two twin sized beds. Both upstairs rooms have skylights & ceiling fans. The bathroom has a stall shower, no tub.

Please note that there is sketchy cell service at this location.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Heidi & Mike,

Thank you so much for sharing your cozy home with us. We had a great time snowmobiling. The direct access to the trails made it very convenient. The view of the cove is beautiful! We had a wonderful stay and hopefully we can come back soon!

Thank you so much!

Amazing, relaxing setting

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this place just says peaceful. Amazing views, quiet surroundings and a cozy house. My boyfriend, my dog and I spent 5 days just relaxing and watching the winter melt away. Heidi was extremely friendly and welcoming and the house was exactly as described and clean and well kept. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking during our stay and then some! I don't recommend making a Winter or early Spring trip here without 4-wheel drive or at least some good snow tires as the road to the house was not recently plowed. While Errol is definitely in the middle of nowhere, if you take a ride an hour in any direction you won't be disappointed with the scenery and there are a ton of hiking and scenic views to explore on the main roads. We are already planning our next trip! Definitely dog friendly and great for a family with older kids (I would be wary with small children due to the open staircase leading upstairs and the large pond on the property) I would recommend this to anyone looking to just get away from it all.

NICE AND PEACEFUL

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 6 days in this lovely cottage. If you like solitude and wonderful views, we highly recommand this place. Heidi, the owner, was nice from the first contact my mail to the last one when we went away.

We had pleasure in snowshoing on the pond and all around, to take the road 3 until Canadian border, (following the Connecticut lakes), and so on...

The must : we met a lot of deers, very closed to us. No moose so we have to come back ...

Such A Beautiful Setting!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in this cozy cabin! We treasured the quiet location and view across the cove. We enjoyed both the kayaks and paddleboat, and spent a couple peaceful evenings by the campfire. Heidi was a very attentive host, making sure that everything was in order and even sending a kind note with our security deposit. We certainly hope to return someday, and highly recommend this home to anyone seeking beautiful scenery and solitude.

Great get away location and cabin

  • 5 of 5

What a great cabin! Four of us visiting from CT stayed in this cabin the last two years and we could not be happier with the cabin, the location and the customer service provided by Heidi.

We have been visiting the great north woods for 26 years and this is our favorite place so far.

Beautiful Place

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 (2 daughters aged 10 & 13) stayed for a long weekend. We loved staying at this property. Very quiet with beautiful views of the lake and the mountains. The house is very roomy with all the items you need for a nice stay on the lake. It was so nice to have a property with 2 kayaks, a pedal boat & a row boat at our disposal. The house and property are well maintained. We had loons and a heron come into the cove every day. The owner, Heidi greeted us warmly on our arrival and gave us a thorough tour of the house. Heidi was very quick to respond to all our email inquiries prior to our arrival. Our family definitely would recommend this property!

Owner's Response: Dear Suzanne, John, Mackenzie & Madison, It is very gratifying to have others enjoy our cabin as we do, as a home away from home. And, it's wonderful to learn that the younger guests enjoy it as much as the adults. Thank you, we so much appreciate your five star review. Sincerely, Heidi & Michael Palmer

The cabin is located at a dead end, on Stump Cove, around a corner from Akers Pond. It is very private for these reasons. There is no end to hiking, biking, 4 wheeling, swimming, boating, as well as skiing & snowmobiling in and around the area. You can park your trailer and snowmobile directly from the cabin.
