The ride to the big lake is approximately 12 minutes by bike. Legoland Europe is less than an hour and Italy is less than 3 hours away, as are many of the best castles in Germany. A bus stop is just down the street and goes hourly to the Donauwoerth main train station. Trips to and from Augsburg, Munich, Ingolstadt, Nurnburg main train stations are routinely available. The fast train takes about an hour to Munich. Travel from the Munich airport is via the S8 train (38 minutes) to the Munich Hauptbahnhof and then via Bundesbahn to Donauwoerth. Very convenient, nice quiet, and relaxing.
