6 Bedrooms, 6 baths, sleeps no more than 12

Large 6000 square foot living space in restored barn. If you like open, airy loft living, this is your property in the country. 2 large master bedrooms, one with Jacuzzi, 1 smaller bedroom and 3 unique bedroom/baths each located in a converted silo. Large kitchen with professional appliances, dining area, fireplace area, living room. 600 square foot deck overlooks a 24 acre private lake. Gunite pool. The property has many trails for hiking, and there is the opportunity (under a separate arrangement) to participate in a working cattle ranch featuring grass fed beef.

Located 5 miles from the Town of Litchfield, the property is in a very private area and is surrounded by 2000 protected acres of the Waterbury Water Company. Litchfield is a short drive away and features numerous bars and restaurants, museums, nature preserves, antique shops and general sight seeing opportunities.

This is the perfect spot to go with family and friends to enjoy the country and bask in the outdoors or inside the spacious barn.

Although the barn sleeps 12 people, we are not looking to rent to a large group of unrelated people-ie a 'share' type situation or a party house. The person who is contracting to rent the property must be at least 27 years old.

The barn is located on a 700 acre estate/working farm. We raise grass fed beef, and pastured pork and poultry. For an additional fee, we can offer a farm experience depending on the season at an extra cost to be determined by the type of experience desired and the number of people involved.

Additional information about rental rates

For 2 or 3 night stays, 50% deposit plus the insurance fee at the time of booking; the balance plus the cleaning deposit will be due within 3 weeks of the lease. For 1 week or longer stays, 1/3 at the time of booking plus the insurance, the 2nd third witin 30 days, and the last third plus the cleaning deposit within 14 days.
Fees And Taxes There are no taxes. There is an insurance fee that is in lieu of a damage deposit. The insurance fee will depend on the size of the party and will vary from $59 to $89 per booking. There is a $200 refundable cleaning deposit that will be returned if the Barn is left in a broom clean condition. If we grant permission for you to keep an animal, the refiundable deposit will be $400.
We are open to the idea of special events-weddings, anniversaries, special birthdays. If your event will include more than 20 people (the Barn only sleeps 12), you will need to contact us to go over event pricing.

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency (USD) unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

Notes: We will consider the possibility of hosting small events and weddings on site. Please contact us with details of your plansm and we will let you know if the site would be appropriate. We can arrange rental of Mountain Bikes, bicycles or kayaks. The property is located on a 700 acre working farm where grass fed Angus are raised along with pigs and chickens. For an additional fee we can arrange you to work with the farmers as they move the grass fed herd from pasture to pasture and help feed the pigs and chickens.

Relaxing weekend retreat

I stayed at the Barn over the recent July 4th weekend with my wife and 3 kids - all of us had a great time, enjoying the fantastic views of the sunset from the back porch, as well as the pool. The house has a great open feel to it and the owners couldn't have been nicer. This house would be good for a larger group as well. The house is ideally located near everything - restaurants, markets, golf, horseback riding, etc, and was only 90 minutes from New York. I would definitely recommend staying here!
