About Sally Howard

I purchased 304 when the owner told me he was going to sell. I'd been visiting Santa Fe for about 3 years and always stayed in 304. It took me seconds to make the decision.

I typically drive to Santa Fe once a year around April/May and spend a month and then either in Sept/Oct or Christmas I'll fly down for a shorter visit. I cannot imagine just visiting once - there is so much to see and do. One of my best times was when I walked from Alameda and St. Francis through neighborhoods and the city taking pictures of Santa Fe 'art'...doors, gates, fences, mailboxes. It's amazing how art permeates Santa Fe. Don't miss the overpasses and retaining walls on Highway 84/285 going North.

I live in Boise, Id, most of the time, and moved in 1970 from St. Louis. It became home the minute I arrived. When I'm asked 'where did you grow up' and standard reply is 'I grew up in Boise and moved there when I was 30'. It's so true! Santa Fe and Boise are oddly similar in weather and convenience. Boise also has a ski area 16 miles away and great outdoor activities. I recommend visiting Boise too.

Sally Howard purchased this condo in 1993

Why Sally Howard chose Santa Fe

It's home, it's comfortable and it's convenient! DeVargas Mall is just across the highway and has everything you need - grocery store, Hastings, great Pizza shop, movie theater, dress shops, drug store, excellent restaurants, etc. Taos, Opera and Tesuque are just north.

I've made it 304 home and hope you'll feel the same. If there is something more that you think it needs just let me know.

What makes this condo unique

My favorite thing about 304 is the balcony and the view. I have seen more rainbows from the balcony in Santa Fe then all of the rest of my life combined. The cloud formations that pass over are truly amazing.

Owner's Response: You mentioned the two things that I like most about my Santa Fe home; the convenient location and the view. I know you were concerned about the weather but when I checked on it Santa Fe had highs in the 50's. That's pretty nice for November. Please revisit again soon.

Anniversary in Santa Fe

  • of 5
We really enjoyed our stay. Sallie communicated with us on a timely basis and helped us through all of the details. The condo was exactly as pictured. It was very comfortable and totally met our needs. If fact, we hope to come back in late January. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

A hiking paradise

  • 5 of 5
We enjoyed our stay so much - comfy, pretty, and well-appointed condo. We were happy! The sunny weather and abundance of hikes were two of the main draws for us to Santa Fe. We hiked our way through the excellent book Day Hikes in the Santa Fe Area (7th edition by the Northern New Mexico Group of the Sierra Club; available at Santa Fe's Collected Works Bookstore at 202 Galisteo St.) - fabulous scenery and each one different. For wildlife we encountered mule deer, a rabbit, a rattler, a herd of Bighorn sheep, a mountain goat, Stellar Jays. We especially enjoyed Tent Rocks, the Glorieta Ghost Town Hike, and Cirrillos Hills, and we are not yet sated with all the sun!

Owner's Response: The first thing I will do when I get to Santa Fe is go to the bookstore and purchase the book on hiking.
I'm so happy you enjoyed your stay at my Santa Fe home and hope your return soon. I'm sure there are more hikes to explore.

Great Condo in Santa Fe

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I stayed in this cozy condo in September for one week. It was comfortable, cozy and clean. We so enjoyed our stay! It is in a great location with the deck facing the mountains. A great place to enjoy coffee or a cocktail in the evening. We brought our black lab, Jake, and there was a great dog park within a couple of blocks which we took advantage of twice a day. The beds and sheeting were very comfortable and the furniture most comfortable. The condo comes well stocked and the washer and dryer was a blessing to have. The only negative that I can list about this property is the traffic noise on the street it faces. If you kept the doors and windows closed, it was no problem, but with anything open it was quite irritating.

Santa Fe is a wonderful place to visit with the shopping, the galleries, the spectacular restaurants, the hiking and the views! We had a wonderful visit staying in this wonderful condo. Both Sally (owner) and Scott (manager) were extremely easy and efficient to work with. I highly recommend this Cielo Grande Condominium.

We were most pleased with our accommodation. The amenities helped make it a comfortable trip. The outside sitting area was especially pleasant. The location was perfect for us. We will come here again if we go to Santa Fe.

Needed great place for our very first Santa Fe visit to celebrated wife's 60th B'Day

Needed great place for our very first Santa Fe visit to celebrated wife's 60th B'Day

The pictures don't lie: This condo is very, very nice. Certainly cozy and comfortable. It "oozes" Santa Fe with all of the local furnishings and artwork hanging/placed everywhere. Very clean; not new, but you won't even care or barely notice. Lots of instructions/helpful hints taped around the place. Over-the-top furnished (Ever heard the expression "soup to nuts"? Well, from the kitchen to the bathroom, Sally has everything you could possible need). It is IDEALLY located just off two main Santa Fe roads (Guadaloupe and St. Francis). You can easily walk to several really cool places to eat, and if you are up for a little exercise, you can walk and literally be in the center of the Downtown Plaza in less than 30 minutes (2.0 mi; 6-8 minutes by car). 5 minutes to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. The view of the hills (and even some of the downtown buildings) from the 3rd floor deck is super. Elevators and/or stairs are located close to the entrance for easy up & down. Easy outdoor parking. The electronic security lock works flawlessly. The placement of the bedrooms ensures no outside noise issues at night. Except for one of the bathroom exhaust fans not working, all bathroom facilities (toilets, shower, etc) work fine, although the lighting is not great in either. The queen bed, pillows, etc were very comfortable (and we are very picky in this area). Can't speak to the 2-twin beds since we didn't use them. Everything in the kitchen works fine. The water quality was so good, we never needed to buy any bottled water. Only 2 downsides from our perspective: 1) The relative lack of a TV (one very small TV in living room with an aspect ratio problem that I could not fix via the remote's menu, and nothing in bedroom, which we personally enjoy in the morning while drinking our morning coffee, getting dressed, etc); and 2) If you run the A/C at night (which we had to since it was 90+ during the day), be sure and have your earplugs because when it kicks on, it sounds like the wind from a jet engine and will wake you up (a ceiling fan or a floor/desk fan in the master could have alleviated that). Overall, from a price-to-quality factor, I could not imagine there would be a better deal anywhere in Santa Fe. I would/will definitely choose to stay here again since my wife and I want to come back every year for her birthday going forward. You will not be disappointed if you stay in this condo. Well worth it.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the wonderful endorsement of my Santa Fe home. If you do return next year there is a real possibility you will enjoy all new bathrooms. One correction; The Plaza is only 1.3 miles if you walk/drive Guadalupe to San Francisco. I'm always looking to improve my guests experience and appreciate your feedback.
