Vacation Home on one of York Village's most scenic streets. Privately situated within a natural setting, on a pond, with abundant wildlife, including blue herons, 'hoodie' ducks, turtles, and YOU! The house is sunlit, has a completely equipped new kitchen, working fireplace, and a 3 season porch overlooking the pond. Plenty of lawn area for playing games or peacefully hanging out. The location is perfectly perfect within minutes walking distance to Historic York Village and a very nice stroll through the woods, over the 'Wiggly Bridge' and along Fisherman's Path to beautiful York Harbor Beach and Cliff Walk. Short driving distance to Long & Short Sands Beaches and many other attractions and fine restaurants. York Country Club & Golf Course is located just across the pond. There are so many things to do!
You could venture a bit further to the Historic Nubble Light House and to Ogunquit, only 9 miles away, where there are lots and lots of shops, restaurants, galleries, theater, and more!
Available for weekly rental July - August
My partner Laurie and I relocated from Cape Cod, Massachusetts to live the 'simple life' on our small farm in Eliot, ME. We are both avid gardeners, and have run a CSA locally. I am a former architect turned artist and thoroughly enjoy our new life here in Maine. I also owned and operated a guest house in Provincetown for 5 years and loved it. We adore our little cottage in York and plan to live there full time in the future when we grow tired of the Big House. We look forward to developing the gardens in York when we catch our breath. The simple life is a very busy one!
York Village and York Harbor are both absolutely gorgeous. I fell in love with the area instantly decades ago. I felt exceedingly lucky to have had the opportunity to purchase this little gem. It was a total wreck when we bought it, and we did our best to make it quite livable. And even though it still needs work, it's a terrific place to live or vacation.
Location, location, location! The Pond is nice too. We love the birds, the turtles, the breezes, the privacy, and the potential.
There's so much to do locally in the York area. Ogunquit is only a 10 min. drive north of York. Boston just over an hour drive to the south and Portland around 45 min. drive to the north. Portsmouth, NH is only 15 min. away and is a wonderful little city. It's ALL here! And it's all very accessible too. Beautiful scenic drives all the way up the coast of Maine to many gorgeous, natural, and historic destinations, like Camdon, Bar Harbor, etc. Beautiful and fun filled all year round. Like the sign says when you're entering Maine: 'Maine, The way life should be'.
