|Minimum Stay||5 nights|
As you open the gate, you enter your own personal retreat, lush lawns, swaying palm trees, the soothing sound of water falls. Wade into the beach-entry swimming pool framed by real lava rocks, relax in the Bali-style pool cabana, or work on your tan resting in a lounge chair pool-side while enjoying a cool drink. A rare majestic Banyan tree frames this beautiful Lanikai beachside home and cottage and creates a welcoming, cool and unique setting even on hot summer days. You just might have trouble pulling yourself away to get over to world famous Lanikai Beach.
Lanikai beach with its' powdery soft sand and gentle protected water is known as one of the best swimming beaches in the world. The Mokulua Islands off shore from Lanikai have been included in numerous advertisements and movies. The turquoise waters of Lanikai are less than a half block, only a hop and a skip, approximately a 2 minute walk away. Take in the incredible scenery as you enter the beach, spend endless hours relaxing, swimming, snorkling, or go for a stroll feeling the water at your feet, kayak out to the islands, see a turtle or two, and hike up the ridgeline behind Lanikai for scenic vistas in all directions. Lanikai is also favored for its one-way loop circling through this beachside community, inviting joggers and people out for a leisurely walk.
This brand-new deluxe studio-cottage has a typical Hawaiian flair with its large sliding doors opening unto a small private fenced-off garden with a deck. You will find an outside dining table and chairs; a hammock nestled inside the banyan tree; a BBQ and private hot tub. The studio is situated next to a beach-entry pool and pool house available to cottage guests. It offers its' guests an exceptional setting and truly Hawaiian vacation experience. The cottage is tastefully decorated and newly built in 2012. The bali-inspired wooden carved plumeria panels hide a queen murphy bed with top-quality mattress; you'll find stylish living room furniture, hardwood floors, lava rock posts, a European-design style bookcase and a TV. The kitchen has granite counters (resembling sand on a beach) and a full-size refrigerator, toaster-convection oven, double hot plate, coffee maker, microwave, blender and hot water kettle. It is fully stocked with whatever kitchen utensils one might need. Hardwood floors throughout are easy on your barefoot feet. The cottage has an open floor plan, which is ideal for island-style living and delights with a casual elegance. It has a large shower stall and bathroom vanity with marble countertop. The main house is well set back towards the back of the property and mostly hidden by a magnificent banyan tree. Tall hedges ensure privacy and a ready supply of beach equipment make frequent trips to the beach easy. This mini-estate is part of the upscale community of Lanikai, a sub division of the town of Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii, and stands out even in Lanikai for its' quaint features and unique setting.

'What an incredible property! We could barely get to any of the 'touristy' things we had wanted to do because we just couldn't tear ourselves out of that yard! It is impossible to capture in pictures, but you really feel like you're in the Garden of Eden -- the waterfalls, the incredible swing, and the white doves fluttering down to drink from that amazing pool made it almost surreal. Ya gotta eat though, so at least make sure to get to Pinky's on Tuesday nights for balloon night, a huge hit with the kids.'

'As we were walking around the loop this morning I commented to my wife how one tends to form an image of a place one plans to visit before seeing it, and how rare it is that the reality surpasses the self created image. Your place, however, sure exceeded my expectations.
We love it. I am sure you’ve heard all the superlatives before, and indeed thought them yourselves, but it is, truly, a lovely, lovely place!
This is the sixth house we’ve rented for a summer month in Kailua, and the fourth in Lanikai. In terms of sheer loveliness, house and garden, it is honestly my favorite among the houses we’ve rented.'

'This is a little piece of paradise! What a great place to stay. It was very windy while we were there, and instead of braving the sandstorm on the beach we could just lie in the yard, in the middle of the amazing (and private) garden. Very quiet and peaceful! I will miss breakfast under the Banyan tree, listening to the birds, going to Baci's Bistro (best food in the world, seriously).
The house is clean and well equipped - it is definitely a home, not just a rental accomodation. Thank you for sharing it with us!'

'We arrived home today after a looooong trip from Hawaii. I wanted to let you know how absolutely perfect we found your home. It is such a beautiful, peaceful, wonderful spot. You have created something very special. Our son loved the pool and yard so much we had to drag him to the beach! I am so happy that we chose to rent your house. It was perfect for us!'
