|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
Step into a light filled well decorated cozy beach house. Newly remodeled throughout. Breath in the calm and beauty of The Sea Ranch. You can cook in our well-stocked kitchen (including sharp knives) with newer appliances, or search out the local restaurant scene. There are two local excellent grocery stores a short drive from our home.
Watch the whales during migration in the spring and fall from our deck, or upstairs bedroom, while you snuggle into one of our comfy fabulous beds. Read a book, or watch a movie you brought with you or choose from our library. Play a board/card game. Go golfing, kayaking, diving. Do nothing.
Clear night skies are incredible. Watch the shooting stars show, sip a glass of wine and watch the sunset. Listen to the gentle waves breaking on the nearby cliff while you sleep and read. Observe the local wildlife such as deer, raccoons, fox, hawks, osprey, gulls, pelican, resident sea lions, and much much more. If you want to stay connected, we have complimentary wireless internet.
You will feel rested and refreshed after spending a few days at our beautiful beach house. Would be difficult to find a nicer place to hang your hat.

Staying at 'Playa Linda' will make you smile. We take pride in preparing our home for our renter's to feel like they are staying in a special place. We pay attention to the details of providing a warm, clean, restful environment for your home away from home. It is a lovely place to visit and escape from the outside world.
Linda Lamb purchased this bungalow in 1993
We love The Sea Ranch and all it has to offer. Come up to Playa Linda for some adventures, or just relax and take in the beauty of the ocean and surrounding meadows and mountains. There is no place like it anywhere.
One of the many good things about Playa Linda is the decor and wonderful beds, all with new mattresses, which surround you in warm luxury. The kitchen is well stocked for the chef, also has sharp knives! We attempt to supply our renters with the tools they need to easily prepare a simple meal, or gourmet feast, while enjoying a glass of wine from the wine refrigerator in the kitchen.
Some of the most comfortable beds we ever slept in. House is very neat & very well kept. Grounds are beautiful.
We stayed at Playa Linda recently for Thanksgiving week. What I really appreciated was the extra service provided by the owners, and the overall cleanliness and the extremely well stocked kitchen. Even had some spices and basic condiments available. Having to buy pepper and salt, cook with 2-3 basic pans and most of all having to CLEAN the home after staying have always been sore spots for me; HERE none of that is true. I even emailed the owner Linda and asked about their wine cooler. She said help yourself. Some of the wines have their own name on the bottles, and I understand they were very enjoyable (I don't drink).
The one downstairs bedroom does receive noise from the bedroom directly above it, as there is NO insulation under the floor of the upstairs bedroom. That would be the only thing I would criticize. It might be worth fixing. I really appreciated the accommodating welcoming spirit of the home and it's owners. To those who would take issue with small things, I would suggest trying a stay in one of the homes offered by some of the biggest agencies at Sea Ranch. When you can't do basic cooking and have to do your own maid service before you leave you will appreciate an owner who bothers to stock their kitchen (with wine even) and has a cleaning service hired for you as part of the rental. Nice views from most rooms. There is a fireplace in the main living area facing the ocean, so if you must have a full on panoramic view of the ocean you might look elsewhere. I found there was plenty of open window views of the ocean and meadows. It was quite refreshing and peaceful, as Sea Ranch is meant to be. BTW it is also quite close to Gualala for those quick shopping trips. The outdoor area is well fenced for security for smaller children. We found the media to work fine. My bed was extremely comfortable (downstairs). It felt like the others were comfortable and well stocked with linens and warm comforters. There is a telescope in the loft on the mezzanine. Don't know about a Girls getaway. I'm not a girl (woman). Seems like it would be well appointed for that purpose. If you didn't have a car, you would have to find a way to get to town or be sure to bring your own groceries when you arrive. If you wanted to bike to town it would be close enough to do that. Lots of nice walks through the meadow and close to the beach and bluff walks.
I have been going to Sea Ranch for over 25 years, renting each times! Over the past 15 years I go twice a year with my two best friends (we all mothers!) and we hang out and relax, rent movies and connect .....all our lives are so busy. We are on the search for a new "best" house for the 3 of us. It is challenging since 2 of us have bad dust and mold allergies so we have to have a very clean, newer home.
This home met most of our needs! It has a nice entrance area and open kitchen, living and dining rooms. The 3 bedrooms each had a private ensuite bathroom and the 3 Queen beds were amazingly comfortable! A real find! The linens smelled fresh and were clean! Yeah! The kitchen was wonderfully equipped and had everything you needed. The outside deck is very spacious and comfortable with beautiful views of the meadow and ocean. And lovely when the sun is shining!
A few things to note: The lighting in the living room was very challenging making it difficult to read. If you are used to "the Sea Ranch view" from the living room, this house is not for you. The meadow and ocean were viewable from corner windows - no big picture window! And beautiful views from the master bedroom upstairs. The wine glasses were plastic so if you are a wine enthusiast bring your own glass! Also, the windows in the bedrooms don't have screens! The owners were at the home when we arrived and told us that raccoons can come up to the downstairs 2 bedroom windows so recommended they stay closed. And the upstairs master bedroom has bat visitors at times! We slept with the bedroom windows wide open in the master upstairs bedroom and we had no bat visitors! ;-). The fresh sea air was fantastic as it was a warm weekend!
The home is clean and nice for families but if you are to used to the nice open Sea Ranch ocean view from the living room, this house may not be the one for you!
It is a nice home and we enjoyed our time at Sea Ranch, however this rental did have some issues. Considering all the 5 star reviews I am disappointed and expected a 5 star place. At first arrival it looked nice but as we spent the first night the upstairs bedroom makes a lot of noise, just rolling over in bed is noisy! Our son complained below us he heard every single movement we were making! I even went downstairs to verify it. Yup, every movement is loud! No intimacy at all and very poor sleep!!! My husband is a physician and works long hard hours so this was not a great start to his limited and precious time off. The unit was mostly clean except for a few things...The BBQ grill was not clean, rusty, and even the utensils were just placed inside dirty from the previous users. There were old bottle caps from beers in the kitchen drawers. The outside trash/recycling cans were full so we couldn't put out trash until midweek. The kids brought a couple movies to have family movie nights, but the DVD player was broken. You couldn't sit on a barstool as a button was missing and metal would damage your pants. It's been 3 weeks and I still haven't received my security deposit back even though the owner states there was no problem. The kitchen has supplies not usually found in vacation rentals which was nice. The house is close to the Rec center which is convenient. The layout of the subdivision allows for bike riding with kids. Loved the tide pooling. The town is wonderful. We had marvelous pizzas at Two Fish Bakery as well as their pastries. We will return to Sea Ranch but I would honestly say I would stay at a different place. They need a new housekeeper and the owner should be more respectful of returning the security deposit in a timely manner. I feel since the place is for sale they probably don't want to update the things that are broken. If you do decide to rent this property and have children...Adults take the bedroom downstairs with the small bath ;) Hopefully it is better for you.
This slice of heaven is an amazing place to go and relax! The house is beautiful, very nice kitchen to cook in with all the supplies a gourmet chef would need. Each bedroom has its on bathroom and shower. The ocean is one minute away the front door in your hiking shoes. The walking trails are all private and the scenery is breathtaking. The hot tub on the deck is the perfect way to enjoy each sunset. Cheers!
Stayed here two nights with my sister and our adult daughters. Beds are very comfortable and the kitchen equipped for any kind of cooking. I was heating up an hors d'oeuvre that called for a cookie sheet and parchment paper. Found both in a few seconds! Owner very responsive and easy to deal with. Lovely, cozy home I'd return to.
The three bedrooms with three attached baths make it great for families or three couples (the master bedroom is extra nice and spacious). It is well maintained and appointed and the main living area is very welcoming and comfortable, with a very nice kitchen. We have been to other Sea Ranch properties before, and though this one doesn't have expansive water views, we really enjoyed the comfort, the proximity to Gualala, and access to the Internet! (Bonus: the owner is very responsive and friendly!)
Wonderful large pool & sauna within short walk, hiking, biking, jogging trails.
Great place to watch sunsets & whale migration, year round wildlife.
