We are located down a quiet country lane. Birds abound, flowers of many types and colors appear all year round, and are especially beautiful in the Spring. The vineyard is ever changing and the wonderful wine worth the work we put into maintaining and growing our grapes.
Our 52-tree olive grove is planted with 5 types of Italian varietals and the organic extra virgin olive oil is our pride and joy.
There is nothing so relaxing as a day by the pool, on a perfectly warm day, followed by a relaxing spin in the spa and a bbq as the sun goes down.
Loved the ambience of this small town with all the amenities of a larger city. Great restaurants, fantastic weather-year round. Simpler unhurried lifestyle, wonderful art community.
We had a family reunion over the New Year at this lovely house. It proved to be the sweet spot for group activities in the house and for day trips. The house itself is large and beautifully redone with excellent space for several couples and some kids. The living and dining areas are large and suited for group activities, with a well equipped kitchen and a huge dining table for everyone to gather around. Outside there is plenty of space for eating with lovely views of vineyards, orchards and the mountains in the distance. The location is well positioned to take advantage of nearby Sonoma town shops and restaurants and it is convenient to do things in both Sonoma and Napa valleys. We were welcomed by the owner and were able to really enjoy our time together in beautiful surroundings.
We stayed at Rancho Paradiso in Oct. 2014. This home was perfect for our three couples group as the layout has 3 master suites. It did not disappoint! It is spacious and well equipped. There is plenty of secluded areas you may go for quite time, as well as group areas that accommodated us all together comfortably. It is quite a spectacular home - even better than the photo images. The hot tub was a fun time at the end of every day!
Michael, the owner, was very pleasant to work with regarding our reservations, and eager to share recommendations and answer any questions I had prior to our arrival.
Thank you for opening your home to travelers looking for a lovely place to stay! We prefer renting a residence instead of a hotel. This was a perfect experience!
The home is gorgeous. The pictures do not do it justice. We were met by Michael, the owner, who gave us a wonderful tour of the huge bedrooms and stunning bathrooms, the gourmet kitchen with both a breakfast room and a very large banquet size table for dining, the living room with the endless comfy leather sectional couch and last but not least, the amazing grounds including the very large swimming pool and heated spa. As we gathered at the dining table with our family and friends for a relaxing dinner of mussels, chicken, roasted homegrown vegetables and great wine, I felt like we were in the movie "The Big Chill". The location is wonderful. You can go to Sonoma or Napa for wine tasting, shopping and eating or stay on the grounds and enjoy the serenity of the vineyards and mountain view. Make sure you do allow plenty of time during your stay to absorb and enjoy the home and the grounds. I wish I had a couple more days to do just that!
Rancho Paradiso was even better than "advertised" and we stayed for 2 weeks. The photos do not do this property justice. All the bedrooms are essentially Master suites with ensuite baths. Marie and Michael spared no expense with the remodeling of the house and it shows everywhere. There is lots of room for everyone to spread out and the pool and hot tub were great at the end of the days after wine tasting. The house was very clean when we arrived and all the attention to details were in order. We thoroughly enjoyed being close to downtown Sonoma and enjoyed many restaurants there. We would not hesitate to stay here again and have told many of our friends how fantastic it is.
Our family (5 adults and one child) spent six nights in August at Rancho Paradiso. We hated to leave this bit of paradise just outside the town of Sonoma. We’ve rented vrbo houses in Michigan, Wisconsin, Montana and Florida, and this was our favorite (by far!) both for comfort and location.
The house is spacious and well-designed with a top-flight kitchen, comfortable beds, and well-equipped bathrooms. Everything is clean, fresh and seemingly new. The decor is tasteful and there’s not the clutter of knickknacks found in some rentals.
The best part of our days was spent by the pool with wines and cheeses brought home from our jaunts. We spent afternoon hours by the pool - swimming, relaxing and enjoying the truly fantastic views of vineyards and mountains. We asked that the pool be heated as 74 degrees seemed like the Arctic to us Gulf Coasters! The pool was perfect at about 82 and well worth the extra fee.
Marie and Michael greeted us on arrival, and showed us the house. They were helpful and accommodating, and made us feel at home. Their meticulous binder of information regarding the house and local attractions was the most complete of any house we’ve rented.
The Girl and the Fig topped our list of restaurants. We had a delightful lunch on the patio of the Sunflower Café. A southern breakfast at Fremont Diner was fun and tasty. In Napa we enjoyed an old favorite, Mustard’s, for lunch. A leisurely lunch on the little terrace at Bouchon was a restaurant highlight. We grilled salmon at home one evening for a relaxed dinner, and enjoyed some of the delicious house olive oil.
We took the grandson on a long trip to Sterling Vineyards for the kid-friendly aerial tram and tour. The tram was fun; more interesting was the nearby petrified forest. But next visit we’d skip that long and heavily-trafficked drive in Napa, and spend more time in Sonoma. We did take him to TrainTown in Sonoma - a bit tawdry, but he liked it. We failed with repeated calls to the Sticker Factory in Petaluma. An advance reservation by e-mail is advised.
The Sonoma Market was excellent, and Sonoma’s Best is a treasure. They have a fine selection of wines at reasonable prices, and afternoon tastings are informative. We look forward to the arrival of wines ordered from there. We’ll sip that Graves, and hope it tastes as good as it did on a perfectly beautiful, cool evening at Rancho Paradiso.
Thank you for making us feel so at home in your home. Rancho Paradiso is a beautiful property with all we could ask for in a private, wine country setting.
It was truly a perfect home in all respects for our family vacation. Our stay was quiet and restful, with each day bringing hours in/around the pool and wonderful meals prepared in the kitchen. All rooms in the house are spacious, and the beds/linens were all very clean & comfortable (= very good sleep for both parents and children!).
It was just a short drive into downtown Sonoma for any grocery shopping we needed to do, while also being close in proximity to so many other places we wanted to visit while in the area (Napa, Santa Rosa and Healdsburg in particular). Many amazing restaurants and wineries are also all around.
This was truly the best family vacation we've ever had - in all sincerity! We have every intent of returning again, ideally sooner rather than later.
Thank you so much and we'll see you again!
