Neat Cottage on a Nice Sandy Lake Michigan Beach

Stayed for a wonderful week which was our first vacation with our 7 month old child (family of 4). Upon arrival we were greeted with a yummy welcome basket full of sinfully good things. I was delighted to find that the cottage was clean and had a feeling of home. I love the Moose decor...the tables are fabulous. There were no smells of any kind and were happy to find no stains, molds, etc around the cottage. Linens were fresh and everything was well thought out.

Our 13 yr old ran to the beach right away and starting hunting for all kinds of treasures. Firewood was also provided but had to get more because we loved having a fire every night while star gazing and listening to the waves. Oh save the trip to the Dark Sky Park. It is only a 1/2 mile or so down the beach and it is the same view you get from your own private beach setting. I can't believe how many shooting stars I saw that week.

The water was somewhat cold but we braved it anyways. You can walk a good distance before it gets deep. It actually gets a little shallow as you walk out and then goes back down. Water ranged from smooth to high waves. Enjoyed them all.

We did have a problem with a real bad storm that took out the power for most of the day. However we just went to town and enjoyed ourselves. The Owners did call several times to check on us and offer updates. While we didn't like the no power it was really neat to see the storm come in off the water. It really is a lovely view for sunsets too.

I would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a relaxing vacation either with a family or a romantic getaway.

Deposit was refunded within three weeks after departure and the Owners are really thoughtful and caring people.

Our family vacation was absolutly perfect!!! I have vacationed in this area for 56 years and this cottage was wonderful! Beautiful beach! This vacation was with all of our adult children....plenty of room! We put an air mattress in the living room as well as used the futon. Have already recommended this cottage to friends....would love for them to experience as nice a vacation as we had! Would love to make this a yearly summer get together for our family!

My family stayed in this cottage the weekend after Labor Day 2010. The cottage was very clean and neat not to mention cozy. We could not have asked for a cleaner place. It was well stocked with everything needed to cook meals (we did not eat out once!) The view of the Lake Michigan was excellent. We would definitely stay here again the future.
