My partner and I purchased this house in 1997 as a weekend escape from Manhattan. We have worked hard on it over the years to create a home, a place where we could go to unwind and relax. Due to work we left New York and currently reside in Atlanta. Since it is difficult for us to get to the Catskills we have decided to rent our home for the first time. This is not a typical party house rental, it is and continues to be home for us. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we have, and still do. There is a caretaker for the house nearby who looks over the premises and is nearby to handle any needs that may arise.

Perfect Catskills Weekend

  • 5 of 5
We rented this house for a friend's wedding at The Inn at West Settlement and it couldn't have been a better experience. The house was spotless and the views are spectacular. There's a great lake nearby where we went kayaking, a farmer's market about 5 minutes away, and plenty of beauty all around. The owner was very responsive and helpful before and during our stay. I would rent this place again in a heartbeat.

Gorgeous and relaxing get away.

  • 5 of 5
The house is adorable. Well decorated and impeccably clean. The photos are true to life. Most impressive are the grounds. There are green mountains everywhere. The windows in the wonderful tv room have views that go on forever. We were up for a wedding so we didn't explore the area too much beyond a great farmers market but I would be very glad to go back. Also, the owner was quick to respond.

AMAZING HOME AND PROPERTY!

  • 5 of 5
We are getting married next year in Roxbury and were looking for a home to rent for the wedding week. We were planning on taking a vacation for a week this year so thought we would rent this property to see if we liked it. This house is absolutely amazing! The property is huge, filled with beautiful flower beds, and is very well maintained. It is such a quiet and peaceful place to relax. The home is immaculate, cozy, and has everything you need. The decor is wonderful and makes you feel at home. There is also a well stocked supermarket less than 10 minutes down the road in Margaretville. The owner, Michael could not have been more helpful and organized. He always got right back to us with any questions we had and made the whole renting process a breeze. Needless to say we will be renting this home for our wedding.

Amazing views, beautiful home

  • 5 of 5
I recently stayed here with my family, including my infant daughter and my elderly grandmother, and we all, young and old, had a wonderful time. The views of the valley and mountains are worth the trip alone, but the house is what really impressed us. The owners obviously put a lot of time and thought into the decor. Its filled with very stylish, personal touches and it was fun just looking around at all the interesting details and pieces of art. My grandmother was particularly taken with the sculpture in the downstairs bathroom.

The house is very well maintained and very comfortable, with a HUGE kitchen table which is great for groups, two comfy living rooms, and lots of seating outside. The kitchen had everything you would need, including some spices, sugar etc, which was really nice.

The grounds were freshly mowed when we arrived, and we really enjoyed hanging out outside, just looking at the mountains and watching the baby crawl in the grass. We didn't have time to use the croquet lawn, but I can see how it would be lots of fun. It's on the top of our list of things to do when we come back.

The owner is very friendly and easy to deal with. He always responded quickly to my emails, gave very clear directions to the house, and made sure we had info on things to do in the area. I would definitely recommend this place.

Memorial Day Weekend in the Catskills!!

  • 5 of 5
Words alone cannot explain the wonderful weekend my family and I had while staying at this log cabin. It was the most relaxation we have had in a long time. The house provided everything you could imagine and more. It was inviting, fun and a memory we will have for a long time. We plan on renting this place again as well as my adult children renting the place for a get away of their own with their friends. We will most definitely recommend this place to our friends and the rest of our family. Thank you for such a great weekend!!!

Great winter get-away!

  • 4 of 5
We arrived Friday night (thanks to spot on directions) to a plowed driveway, walkway and a warm house, with the fire already going. The house was spotless, well stocked (especially the kitchen), clean linens, plenty of towels and just a beautiful place overall. The views of the surrounding mountains were incredible. Sledding would have been great except for the two feet of snow! We were 15 minutes from Plattkill Mountain (went Saturday and Sunday) and close enough to Margaretville's Main street for quick coffee runs (there was a coffee maker.) The owner was readily available and answered our emails in a quick and timely fashion. We knew if there were any issues, they would get taken care of (there wasn't any.) Perfect for a family (we are a family of four) or couples sharing. This will definitely be our go to ski rental place.

Located 2-1/2 hours from the George Washington Bridge, the house sits on top of a mountain ridge with 15+ mile views within the Watershed Area of New York City. Close by is the Catskill State Park with endless trails for great hiking. The peacefulness and quiet along with the abundant nature and wildlife are the main attractions and beauty of the area. Relax, hike, golf, shop for antiques, or try fly fishing for fresh trout in one of the spring fed mountain streams. There are several quaint small towns nearby to explore, shop and have lunch. A must-see is Opus 40, one man's incredible life earth-work sculpture.
