Live like real New Yorkers do. This lovely, comfortable 1 bedroom is in a quiet, safe part of the city, yet just minutes to museums, dining and transit. The landmark building has a unique design with courtyard and spiral staircases. Just 6 steps up make it ideal for everyone, young and old. The one bedroom has a queen size bed plus the living room has a queen size sofa bed.
The apartment is just 2 short blocks to the cross town bus and 4 blocks to the Lexington Ave. subway, making it easy to get to all the attractions. The Whitney Museum is 7 blocks away, Fifth Avenue’s Museum Mile and Central Park are just as close. It is also just blocks to Sloan Kettering, New York Presbyterian and Lenox Hill Hospitals. In the summer, John Jay Park is a half block away with public swimming pool and playground.
The apartment includes TV, wireless internet connection, DVD player, and stereo for your entertainment. A fully stocked kitchen with coffee and tea to get you started in the morning and everything you need to cook a meal if you want to stay in at night. The neighborhood has lots of restaurants and diners with a good mix of cuisines for a relaxing meal at the end of the day.
I am a computer consultant who spends a lot of time traveling and working from other cities. I decided instead of leaving it empty for weeks at a time, I would share it with others. Unfortunately due to new New York rules, I need to do this as a monthly rental only.
Terri Gavin purchased this apartment in 1990
Because I travel so much, I have removed most of my personal items so the traveler has all the room and closet space they could want but still have the sense of a real home. I loved the building from the moment I saw it with it's unique design and history. I also love that I can be anywhere in NYC quickly and easily. The best of all worlds.
The apartment is very comfortable and quiet. The bed is very comfortable as well. The location is great and near the 79th St crosstown bus and the 6 line subway. The neighborhood is very nice and safe. The photos of the apartment are very accurate.
This wonderful apartment is in an exquisite old landmark building with interior courtyards – really too wonderful to describe - on a quiet street that ends at a park on the river. It is cozy, clean, and comfortable, has a fully equipped kitchen, and a very comfortable bed. We were so happy to come 'home' every day after trekking around the city. It is one block from a bus stop to midtown and 3 blocks from a fabulous grocery store - Agata and Valentina. The owner Terri is a great host and communicator. We highly recommend this apartment.
The apartment was nice and quaint. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. The owner was very responsive and helpful, and provided us with lots of information on how to get around and what to see in the area. I left something in the apartment after we left, and she immediately notified me and offered to send it to me in the mail. We would definitely choose this apartment again.
Very comfortable apartment near the subway and museums. Equipped with everything you need but a bit old style. I totally recommend to enjoy New York and surrounding areas.
