Our comfortable west coast waterfront home is located at the end of a quiet lane 15 min. from downtown Victoria but has a country feel. Search D'Arcy Lane, Saanich for map. Stairs down to the beach are steps away. There is lots of on site parking, up to three cars.
The rate is for a group of six people, although we can accommodate up to nine for an extra charge. This home's old world charm includes in-laid oak flooring throughout with fine architectural details, such as special crown moldings and leaded glass entrance doors.
From most rooms, you have a 180 degree view of the ocean. The house is built on rock overlooking incredible beauty and wildlife. For early risers, watch the colorful sunrises and perhaps whales in the distance or an eagle or heron searching for a delicious treat in the sea. Often seals or otters love to play nearby entertaining each other and you. Watch cruise ships in the distance near the San Juan Islands, or a kayak drifting by, with snow capped mountains in the background. Our property is fenced so safe for young children.
The living area offered is over 2600 sq. ft. The elegant foyer is spacious with immediate views of the sea from another door to the oceanfront patio, stretching over 100 ft. The outdoor hot tub is close by, lovely for ocean gazing in warmth. The large, but cozy, living room and dining room are filled with picture windows providing abundant light, perfect for gatherings. Cable TV in living room and internet throughout the house. A 300 ft.² glass sunroom overlooks a lovely Zen style garden with lovely views of the ocean as well. The double size kitchen is a chef's delight!
The master bedroom with queen bed and balcony overlooking the ocean is a spacious almost 275 ft.². Jetted jacuzzi tub is upstairs. The two single bed rooms are across the hall and another bedroom with cable TV, queen bed and adjoining bathroom with toilet and sink is on the main floor.
Restaurants, shopping and organic markets are close by. Within 2 km are two golf courses and mini-golf for the children. Nearby is the Lochside trail, excellent for cycling long distances or jogging in a country setting.
Downtown you'll find the Royal BC Museum, the Wax Museum, the Empress Hotel and Undersea Gardens. You might like a horse drawn carriage ride. A short 15 min. drive northwest are the famous Butchart Gardens and Butterfly World. We are within 20 to 25 min. from the airport and the BC or Washington ferries.
Our climate is mild. We usually have just a few days of snow, if any, in Winter. It does rain with lots of dry, sunny days, creating perfect conditions for year-round gardens. We are famous for daffodils in January! As tranquil and sunny as you'll find our seaside in Spring and Summer, the exciting winter storms are invigorating to watch from your cozy living room.
You will find your home away from home a tranquil haven for relaxation and noticing nature and wildlife at its finest. Please email for more information and photos, or check out our website link below.

'I'd be happy to be a positive reference and, yes, it's fine to use my comments.
I am going through the pictures and video taken during the visit to Victoria. With days set aside for salmon fishing, whale watching, Butchart Gardens, High Tea at the Empress and a tour of Hatley Castle (Mark and Emily were married there 9 years ago), trips into town for meals, and an occasional walk along your beach, our time was quite full. It helped to have such a nice home to rest in each evening and collect ourselves for the next day's adventure.
Thank you for opening your ocean side home to us. Being there made the trip all the more restful and enjoyable.'

This photo is of the beach at low tide in front of our house. We have lived in Victoria for many years, so know lots about the area. We have travelled around the world and love to meet people.
Donna purchased this house in 2009
Why Donna chose Victoria
Our dream has been to own a waterfront home in Victoria, in a tranquil setting with lots of character and charm, and we found it!
