Serene Lakes, a community in Soda Springs, really lives up to its name! Surrounded by alpine lakes and rivers, wildlife, natural beauty, and rich history, you will be uplifted and relaxed at the same time. Filled with wildflowers in the summer and snow in the winter, you will want to be outside as much as inside.
Our 3-bedroom plus loft home sleeps up to 10, with full kitchen, dining area, and wood stove. The main floor's living room has comfy couches facing the wood stove, where you can gather with your loved ones. There are games and books for all age groups to enjoy, as well as a stereo with ipod dock. A sliding glass door opens to the side deck and outdoor furniture. The dining area seats 6, and is right next to the full kitchen. Also on the main floor are two queen bedrooms, a full bath, and a laundry closet.
The upstairs floor has a queen bedroom, another full bathroom, and the loft. The loft has four twin beds, and a TV with DVD and VHS players. There are forest views from every window!
Serene Lakes is centered on the lake, where you can swim and enjoy the summer sun. In the winter, cross-country ski all over the area, or at Royal Gorge, the best groomed cross-country ski area around. Within 2 miles are 4 more ski resorts, some offering downhill tubing for family fun, and some with the best snowboarding terrain parks in North Tahoe. The blink-and-you'll-miss-it town of Soda Springs is surprisingly well-equipped with rentals, ski shops, general store and deli, restaurants, and bars.
Take a 14-mile drive down Donner Pass Road, the most beautiful road in the world, to Donner Lake and Truckee. Truckee offers world-class dining, shopping, and all services.
Note that four-wheel drive and/or chains may be required in the winter.
