My husband grew up coming here, and my great grandparents had a home in nearby Bayview. We have 2 boys, 15 and 16, and tons of cousins and friends on the lake. We enjoy the great shopping, food, theatre - even wine tasting on the Leelanau Peninsula when flying into Traverse City. We came for the summers, and keep discovering more winter and fall fun!
Ellen Hatch purchased this house in 2005
This is the classic family lake experience! We bought our house in 2005 because we know we will be coming here every year for our lifetimes and our children's lifetimes!
A neighbor showed me the start of the blue trail directly behind our house - we had a great trek through the woods. In the summer the kids pick blackberries and wild apples, and hunt salamanders on these same trails. There are a few geocaches hidden too! Fourth of July is fabulous with the kids with sparklers looking like fireflies on the shore, and fireworks all over the lake. We like Boyne City's small town 4th of July parade, the weekly farmer's markets and smoked whitefish spread, big fishing charters or Sunset Sailing Cruises on Lake Michigan out of nearby Charlevoix. We play tennis everyday, the kids sail in the 'Walloon Sailors' Organization every day and race weekly. The Solace Spa at Boyne Mountain has a great selection of treatments, and an unbeatable relaxation room. Petoskey, Bay Harbor, Charlevoix, and Harbor Springs all have chic shopping, restaurants and art. We have hiked, walked, or run most of trails and paths in the area!
