3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, sleeps 8.

Located minutes from downtown Lake Placid, the Birdhouse is a relaxing and peaceful home with a babbling brook just outside. On a private drive, this three bedroom, 2.5 bath retreat offers spacious, gut-renovated accommodations on two levels, with the kitchen, main room, two bedrooms (both with queen beds; one bedroom has an attached half bath), full bath and entry closet on the main level. Accessible via interior stairs and an exterior private entrance, the downstairs living area includes a king bed in a sleeping nook with attached lounge area, a bedroom with 2 twin beds, a large crib and travel crib are available, full bathroom, laundry room and plenty of storage.

Our home was gut renovated in spring 2012, with new floors, paint, bathrooms, kitchen and balconies. There are BRAND NEW bathroom fixtures, kitchen appliances, towels, bedding (sheets, blankets/comforters, pillows) and beds. Mattresses (1 king, 2 queen, 2 twin) are brand new King Koil pillow tops for complete sleeping comfort.

The Birdhouse is appointed with families in mind, with a large crib, toddler bed, toys, changing table and travel crib included. There is a beautiful playground, Acorn playground just a short walk away (half a mile; 10-15 minute walk), with a sand base, swings, jungle gym and more. We provide a stroller at the house for your use. Main Street in Lake Placid is just under a mile away; it's an easy walk or drive. Starbucks, a movie theater, Gap Outlet, EMS, Ben & Jerry's ice cream and much more are within walking distance.

Weekend Retreat

We had a wonderful girls weekend getaway at this home. The home was lovingly cared for, warm, inviting and immaculate when we arrived. Had the weather been just a bit warmer, we would have also enjoyed the short walk into town. The view of the stream and woods out of the expansive windows was absolutely gorgeous and everyone in our group agreed we would happily return for another stay!

Thank you so much for allowing us to use your wonderful chalet. The layout is amazing with a beautiful view of the stream through the trees made us dream of glade skiing all night. Not only were the beds the most comfortable VRBO mattresses we’ve had the pleasure of using the chalet, your chalet was wonderfully clean and equipped. We loved it!! I would give it a 9 out of 10. 10 = ski in and ski out.

Weekend Lake Placid Getaway

This was a weekend trip from Syracuse to Lake Placid with 3 couples. House was perfect size for us. Actually had 2 more single beds, so could have accomadated 8. Each had own bathroom. Everything is new in house (bathroom, fridge, stove, dishwasher). Very convenient locationm less then 1 mile from Main St. Owners are very responsive, able to answer all questions. If you depend on a concierage when traveling, stay at a hotel. If you can find activies on your own, staying in a house is a more comfortable and economical alternative. I have been to Lake Placid many times, so we had an itinerary prior to arrival. Bottom line: comfortable, clean, modern / rustic balance, nice owners, good location, very affordable = GREAT VALUE.

So comfortable and clean!

Our family and grandchildren stayed for 3 nights and days. The house was very comfortable, clean, and well-organized for guests! There was everything we could have needed, the bedrooms were good sizes, bathrooms were great. So quiet on the side street and the brook could be heard when you stood very still outside! The snow we had was perfect! Town was close by, maybe a 5 min drive. We would defnitely stay here again, and recommend it to others! (the only two negs would be: I missed not having a fireplace, and my daughter said the inside trash container should be larger/taller.) We had a wonderful time!!
