Sometimes describing the characteristics of a home falls short of capturing the essence. The specifics of this property are simple: the home is 2,315 square feet on one level with a 12,000 sq. ft. private yard with pool steps away from some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. There are 4 Bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, with one bedroom and bath separated from the others. The home has recently been remodeled and updated. The kitchen is lovely with granite counters,Viking range, subzero refrigerator, and large butcher block island. The Living and Dining rooms have over 30 feet of french doors and windows to connect one to the the large backyard with huge fifty year-old sycamore trees and a lush lawn. The entire property is fenced, including the front yard.
What is not easy to describe is the feeling that the property exudes. There is a wonderful quality of tranquility and peace - privacy and refuge. You feel as if you are in your own world. Rest from your cares in the backyard on comfortable club chairs, or sit by the fire in the living room, or simply relax in your own private pool (9' x 16').
All of the furnishings in the home are new. All of the beds and high-thread count linens are new. There are new smart LCD TV's in the Living room (47') and Master Bedroom (42'); each have apps to view Netflix streaming movies and listen to Pandora music. The home is casually furnished with taste and comfort in mind.
This beautiful home is a very short 3 1/2 minute walk to a private beach club, which is part of the development. It is very convenient to have bathrooms, hot showers, and beach furniture. There is no food service, but a simple place to store belongings. There are also two private tennis courts that are dedicated to the the residences. 2 minutes from the home are small shops, a wonderful market, and even a Starbucks --
This home was conceived as a high-end, gracious rental. You will fall in love and never want to leave.
My wife and I both were born and raised in California. We love the beach, the privacy, and the community feeling of Malibu West. I am an architect who will one day retire to this peaceful and wonderful home.

Out of all the areas along the 27 miles of shoreline in Malibu, we felt like this location offered the most privacy, sense of community, and best beaches. There is also something so wonderful about living in a beach community with such spectacular foliage. All the homes are surrounded by enormous trees and mature landscaping.
Most guest say the heated pool is really a nice touch. Having the access to a private beach club and tennis courts really sets this community apart. The Trancas Market Shopping Center around the corner provides Starbucks, restaurants, and grocery store.
We loved this house. From the moment we walked in, the house captivated us. It is much larger and lighter in person than we imagined by just looking at the pictures. There is enough space to feel like there was privacy for everyone. Great access to the beach, proximity to the market and Starbucks, and the convenience of having your own pool/spa made the home a real winner; we rarely used the car.
The outdoor areas were large and comfortable. The beds and bedding were really nice, and the house was very clean. We have stayed in some VRBO houses that were not. This house was exactly what you see in the pictures and more - and exceeded our expectations.
From the start, the owner was easy to work with. He met us at the property at check-in and gave us a tour and explained the house and the area. We cannot say enough about our wonderful experience and this home and hope to repeat it in the near future.
We have rented several holiday homes on VRBO, in various locations, and this was the best house we have ever stayed in. Everything was clean and perfectly appointed. It has a very open, airy and light feel with doors from almost every room opening outside. The flow of the rooms is perfect and decorated in exactly the style one would want for a beach holiday. The garden and the pool were relaxing and ideal for children. The location was a huge plus with shops and cafes walking distance down the road. With the house you also get access to a Beach Club and Tennis courts, which means that everything you need for your holiday is easily accessible. The owner, Robert, was very attentive. He met us personally to show us around, made sure we had everything we needed, and was always on hand if we had any questions or problems (he even brought over an extra propane tank for the bbq personally). We can't wait to go back again!
Very quite and relaxing place to stay. Back yard was very big, house was very spacious and beautiful. Close to beach and shopping for food. Great restaurants close by we enjoyed going to Patrick's Roadhouse and The sunset Restaurant was great. Thank you Richard for renting your house and being so helpful.
This is our second time to this home. We loved it the first time and even more the second time. It's very clean and the backyard is large, private, and immaculate. My small children enjoyed playing back there and the heated pool is perfect after a day at the beach. The beach is a short walk, plus there is a gas station, grocery store and Starbucks all within a 5 minute walk. We love this charming beach house and plan on coming back every year.
This is a fantastic home. Clean, open and airy, and very private. The house is very nicely furnished and decorated. The TV's and Netflix were a big hit as well. The beach is very close and easy to get to; the little beach building and bathrooms were very handy. The owners supply boogie boards, beach towels, beach chairs, and we used the ping pong table every day. My wife and I loved the fact that we could get to the beach quickly (it took us 4 minutes), but then return and spend the evenings in the heated pool. The backyard was very large, and the kids had a safe place to run and play. The other thing we really liked was that this is not someone's personal residence. There is no clutter or things that we had to worry about the kids getting into. We had a great time.
This is my second time staying at this property (which is impeccably kept), and I hope to make it an annual event. Now that the market and other stores have opened in the new shopping center right around the corner, everything that we could want is within walking distance. The pool, the beach, the stores, and the hiking trails are enough to make for a perfect get-away without ever getting in the car. I can’t wait until next year!
This property is located in a wonderful community at the intersection of Broad Beach and Zuma Beach. The home is a 3 1/2 minute walk to the beach.
