This stunning Villa on the Mauna Kea Beach Resort property is just a short walk to the world renowned Mauna Kea beach, golf course and tennis pavilion. The expansive, completely unobstructed ocean views face west and south, and from the lanai looking inland, the majestic Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, and Hualalai Volcanoes are all within view. From this Villa you can hear the surf breaking and can also see the bay at Mauna Kea’s Kauna’oa beach.

Situated at the end of Kamahoi Place with no Villas in front or behind, this was the original model Villa because of its superb location. Quiet serenity starts as you enter the lovely private garden entry. The interior is sophisticated and tasteful, focusing on the outside views that go forever. Year round, sunsets are exquisite!

The kitchen is well equipped for the needs of any home chef, and there is a new outdoor gas BBQ on the lanai. Enjoy entertaining on the lanai, which has a 6+ dining table with an additional sitting area for morning lattes and evening cocktails. Enjoy the great sound system throughout the home, complete with wireless music streaming from your iPhone, watch Apple TV, DVR, and cable TV; or choose to watch one of several available DVDs, many of them filmed in the Hawaiian islands.

Located on the Big Island's Kohala Coast, the Mauna Kea Resort is a half hour drive north from the Kona Airport, and offers over 1800 acres of oceanfront paradise. Welcome to a world of service and amenities, including two magnificent beaches, nine restaurants, oceanside tennis courts, spa facilities, and 36 holes of championship golf. Whale watching from your private lanai is especially good from October through March.

A Hotel Amenity Package for our guests to access both Mauna Kea and Hapuna Prince Hotels is available for a one time fee (beaches and pools, golf, tennis, and fitness center).

The Villa overlooks the 9th Hole on the Mauna Kea Golf Course, a Robert Trent Jones designed course. Watch every shot golfers make on this hole from the elevated location of the Villa, then go play the course yourself!

We chose Mauna Kea for its understated elegance, privacy, beauty, and best location on the Big Island. The beach is outstanding, and the close proximity to local restaurants was also a factor.

What makes this condo unique

We like that for short visits we don't need a car; everything we need is right there. Also, Mauna Kea has a quiet sophistication that appeals to us.

The multitude of ecosystems on the Big Island make it, in our opinion, the most interesting Hawaiian island by far. On any given day you can hike (or helicopter) over lava fields, wander through a rain forest, explore the alpine slopes of 13,000 foot volcanoes, dive or snorkel among coral reefs, play championship golf, swim up to sea turtles, or watch whales breach with a mai tai in hand. It's pretty nice. Everyone should have this destination on their must-do travel short list.

This is a great unit. The owners are most gracious and easy to contact. The property manager was excellent and most helpful. The views from the lanai patio are wonderful. The unit has a great flat screen TV in the living room with Apple TV, wifi, and a sound system throughout the home. The listing and photos are current and very accurate. The property is clean, well stocked and well maintained.
