Our house is five minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge, gateway to Sausalito and wine country. While located amidst a thriving urban environment, we nonetheless live with the wilderness, great hiking and stunning beaches within walking distance of our home. Our home is a single family detached home, with a lawn in the backyard - it is hard to imagine that we live in a major urban environment when we are sitting in our sunny backyard reading the Sunday newspapers, or heading off for an afternoon at the beach! On the weekends, we walk to the Golden Gate Bridge or to Baker Beach (a gorgeous beach dominated by a view of the Golden Gate Bridge). We live adjacent to the lovely Presidio, part of the Golden Gate National Recreation area, full of trails and lovely vistas. Still, we are less than 15 minutes from downtown, from Fisherman's Wharf, from Golden Gate Park and from Marin County. Our home was built around 1906 in a beautifully rendered Edwardian style.
