About Receiver/Property Manager

We're the Evans family and live in the Salt Lake Valley. We have a large family ourselves and bought Timber Moose to spend time with each other. We love spending time together in the Lodge and wanted others to be able to enjoy the same experience.

Receiver/Property Manager purchased this lodge in 2012

Why Receiver/Property Manager chose Heber City

We love the mountains and woods, and were looking for a large cabin that would give our big family lots of opportunities to be together. Timber Moose was perfect!

What makes this lodge unique

This property is unique in every way -- it is the largest log cabin in the United States and the only cabin we've seen with an indoor pool and beds for 50. Most important for us: it's close to home: only 50 minutes from Salt Lake City or Provo.

Outstanding and Amazing

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 2 nights as a family to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday and everything was spectacular. Beginning with the help I received from Partha throughout the booking and planning process answering my questions promptly, to Marcy and Dave greeting us and showing us the lodge and the amazing amenities, everything went as planned and Timber Moose didn't disappoint. Of course, the kids were ecstatic about the bounce house, the pool, the game room, and the bunk bed rooms. We had so much fun laughing, playing and relaxing as a family. I loved all of the fireplaces throughout that made it feel so warm, cozy, and welcoming. Everything was clean and well maintained and the kitchen was fully stocked with every appliance we needed. We loved being able to sit, eat, talk and play games in the main dining area, with the separate booths for the kids to sit and the enormous fireplace blazing. It was an awesome experience and we would have loved to stay longer and hope to visit again next year.

The only thing I would change is the number king sized beds considering 3 of the rooms are bunk bed rooms and most married adults don't wish to sleep in a bunk bed. Each of the adult couples would have preferred a king bed in a room with a private bathroom and the Nevada room has a King but not a bathroom. The Elk and Lake room are both large and spacious rooms, with bathrooms, that could accommodate a king, yet they have a queen. In my opinion, bedroom 9, the lake room, and 12, the elk room, would be better with a king since they are more like suites with fireplaces, bathrooms, and views. But, that is just my opinion since I was the person in charge of bedroom assignments, trying to accommodate 8 adult couples. There was, of course, plenty of room for the kids. Two of the bunk rooms went unused for our group because they all wanted to stay together in the large bunk room and the babies were in the port-a-cribs or hide-a-beds with the adults.

Also, we had 2 vehicles that did not have 4 wheel drive and had to park at the church. The church was really difficult to find the first time considering the instructions say it is outside the gate entrance. It is hidden off the side of the road quite a bit farther than "just outside the gate" and not easy to see when it is dark. And it gets dark in the winter at 5. A map would be helpful.

We had an amazing experience and created wonderful memories at Timber Moose Lodge.

TIMBER MOOSE..an "ACE" for large golf groups

  • 5 of 5

We are a group of HS Alums from Wisconsin (grad.1965) that gather every couple years to reconnect for four days, play some golf and raise a little money for our alma mater. We usually have 28-32 guys. We’ve been all over the country, played some great courses…and stayed at some fantastic places. We’ve found that doing everything first-rate keeps the guys coming back.

We’re all over 65 now…and have been around the “golf trip destination, courses & accommodations” block many times. We know what “excellent” looks like. What we didn’t know…until we went to Park City and stayed at Timber Moose Lodge...was what “INCREDIBLE” looked like!

The golf at Soldier Hollow and Wasatch Mountain was scenic, challenging and simply wonderful…and the green fees a remarkable value. Snake Creek Grill in Heber City was a find for our group dinner out one evening. But it was Timber Moose Lodge that blew us away. "INCREDIBLE" by every measure...and by acclamation per all that attended.

The Great Room was a superb place to gather and relax…and the Wet Bar a perfect spot to share a drink while reliving shots from the days golf…or laughing till it hurt at the retelling of old stories from the days of high school high jinx. The Dining Area and adjacent Kitchen were the best we’ve ever enjoyed, perfect for our 30-man early breakfasts and stay-in dinners. The pool…the hot tub…the sauna…WOW!

We’re an “up late, and then up again early” group, so sleep was low on our list of things to take advantage of…which was too bad, because the bedrooms at Timber Moose were beautiful, comfortable and way beyond over-the-top. The web site pictures don't do the rooms justice.

BOTTOM LINE: If you’ve been lucky enough to find this web site, you’ve just “Aced” your search for the place to take your group...golf outing or otherwise. Timber Moose Lodge is a “Bucket List” kind of place…right up there with playing Augusta if you’re a golfer.

Simply writing a review seems a disservice to those of you who may be a group similar to ours. A review limits us in our effort to convey what a great place this was. The golf gods did us a favor when they introduced Timber Moose to us…and we want to return the kindness by urging you to enjoy the trip of lifetime here…as our “STILL CRAZY” group did in September.

We'll never forget it!

Best trip ever.

Best accommodations ever.

Timber Moose Lodge was clean and UNIQUE!

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived at the Timber Moose Lodge the property managers were there to meet us and they were very nice and full of smiles. The lodge was clean and 100% ready for our church youth group. We had a total of 55 youth and approximately 10 adults and there was plenty of room for everyone. We didn't feel crowded. Matt Evans, one of the owners, was very pleasant to deal with and was accommodating when we needed to adjust our stay date. Because of some schedule conflicts we needed to move our date from the first of the month to another available weekend later in the month and Matt was very helpful in making this change for us. We will definitely stay at Timber Moose again.

Sincerely,

Corey Daniels

Great Leadership Retreat!!

  • 5 of 5

I took my team of 30 sales leaders up to the Timber Moose Lodge in Dec 2013 for a couple days. Everyone had a blast! Lots of fun activities (pool, hot tub, sauna, video games, pool, ping pong, foosball, air hockey, poker table, big screen TVs, etc). Kitchen and dining rooms were very big. Rooms were good. Most have private baths. Should have established a curfew the 1st night though as that caused a bit of sleep deprivation the 2nd day. Upstairs was great for business meetings. Plenty of tables and chairs. VZW reception was ok, but other carriers were pretty spotty. Onsite wifi was good, but had its limitation, as expected in the mtns. We had 14" of snow one morning. Couldn't have had a better leadership offsite.

Amazing!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this amazing place for a Company Christmas Party and our only complaint is we didn't stay long enough. There was so much to do and not enough time to do it all. The kids really enjoyed the Bounce House and the Pool while all of the adults enjoyed the Crow's Nest and the many other spots for relaxation. While we were there we already started talking about coming back next year for a Summer Retreat and staying at least 3 days. Timber Moose Lodge was very well maintained and incredibly beautiful, from the views out of all of windows down to the architecture. We will definitely do this again and hopefully soon!!!

It was AMAZING!

  • 5 of 5

We had won the owner's promotion on Facebook for one weeknight stay in November. It was amazing. We tried to invite all we could to come for the amazing night. We ending up having about 30 people. We had a great night away - even if people had to take off of work. Everyone loved the views from the crow's nest. The kids love the bounce house, playroom, game room, swimming pool, pool table and just how much fun you could have without even know your parents were there. The adults that brought their kids were like this is so amazing they can play and we can't even hear them! We did always have supervision at the pool. Everyone stayed up at late as we could to enjoy all the amenities. The big table in the dining area was great for big family games and just sitting and eating all together. I think the hidden secret is how much small appliances are available to cook amazing food - which we didn't have enough time to enjoy because we wanted to do all the other fun stuff. But they have a blendtec(amazing smoothie maker, etc), waffle irons, grills, griddles, so many to count! The view overlooking the pool in the dining area by the kitchen is great too. We were worried about the snow, but it worked out OK because it all melted and it stayed above freezing. Oh, recommend DON'T follow the map and Turn onto Acorn Dr. from Lake Pines Dr, just go up one road to TIMBER LAKES DR. off of Deer Creek drive, It's much easier. You will never regret going to this amazing and extremely large Cabin. It is like it's own little town. But you can get lost, it took me about 10 trips around the house to finally know where I was going. The beds are SOOO comfortable and each room is so amazingly done. The decor is really unique - I love the American Flag made of US pennies in the main entry way by the dining area. Each room has an amazing decor to not too mention the views in the daylight through some of the windows. There is quit the exercise to go to the ballroom where the bounce house is and the crows nest above that. It took us 10 minutes to find my oldest who was on the phone somewhere in the house. So you can still have a ton of people there and get the feel of being on a romantic getaway as a couple. Spacious doesn't even define the spacing. Everyone that came was SO speechless in how big, entertaining, relaxing, elegant, but rustic - it both fits a woman's and man's style. So if you ever need a place to bring all the family and don't want to be with all the family - reserve it!
