Bisbee House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

Picture yourself sitting in the private, fenced, tree-shaded courtyard of a charming and historic miner’s home located just a 4-minute walk from Main Street.

What could be more relaxing?

The Toland Adobe has 2 cozy adjoining bedrooms (queen beds) furnished for comfort with quality linens, and a bath with a clawfoot tub/shower. The living room contains a futon sleeper for additional sleeping accommodations. The house sleeps a maximum of 6.

Ready to take a break from sight-seeing? The house boasts a flat-screen TV, cable, and a DVD/VHS player. Plus, you’ll find a CD player and an iPod docking station.

Want to stream video, listen to Pandora, or play on-line games? With our unlimited wifi, you are free to use the internet just as you would at home. We recently added a Roku box so you can listen to Pandora or use your Netflix or Hulu accounts.

The original adobe structure has been modified and upgraded through the years. Its comfortable lounge areas and vaulted bead board ceilings will encourage you to kick back and relax. Nearly 200 DVDs and gobs of books line the living room shelves. Make yourself at home.

Because we want you to be comfortable year-round, the house has both a mini-split heating/cooling system and a separate window a/c unit in the front bedroom. We’ve also got rolling evaporative cooling units, just in case. But we’re talking Bisbee, not Phoenix. Bisbee has the best weather in Arizona.

If you enjoy cooking, you’ll love having everything you need to prepare great meals: quality pots and pans, sharp knives and numerous small appliances. We love to cook! We just added a rolling cart to provide more convenience. You’ll love the outdoor eating area with its gas BBQ, too.

Worried about running out of clean clothes? We provide an indoor laundry room with full-sized washer/dryer.

Looking for something unique? The Toland Adobe is on the National Register of Historic Places and was once owned by one of Teddy Roosevelt’s Roughriders, Jesse Toland!

The Toland Adobe is reached via just a few wide/deep steps (no stairway) that ascend into a secluded garden courtyard, from which there is a partial view of the mountains. The yard is private (not shared) and is completely fenced -- perfect for those who like to spend time outside in a romantic setting and also handy for those with children and dogs. Enjoy the security of a locked gate and your own front door code.

Imagine the freedom you’ll feel sitting on the patio, reading a novel while the children and dogs play nearby. The owners have 8 grandchildren and are dog lovers who want to ensure kids and dogs are comfortable and safe. That can be hard to find in Bisbee, but with its garden courtyard outside, and hardwood and tile floors inside, the Toland Adobe is both kid- and dog-friendly.

We make things simple for moms by providing both a portable playpen/crib and a high-chair.

You’ll love how convenient the location is to downtown, yet how nice it is to escape to a peaceful home once you’re ready to relax.

The Toland Adobe has on-street parking, with even more parking in the free city lot nearby.

We know you want lodging reservations to be simple and easy. That’s why we have automated our reservation process to be entirely online. But, we can accommodate snail mail and personal checks (usually), too.

--Take advantage of our current savings offers by referencing “FALL2014” for a discount in 2014 and “EARLYBIRD2015” for 5% off all 2015 bookings reserved in 2014.---

Whether you’re renting for a weekend or for the season, you’ll want to find the best possible place. And you’ve found it: a great location, a sweet house, and a private yard.

What more compelling reason do you need to choose The Toland Adobe?

About Becky McIntyre

We are Bryan and Becky McIntyre. We are a middle-aged couple who found Bisbee in February 2012 while escaping record-setting snow in our small northern California town. Bryan is a retired aerospace employee, and I work from home part-time. Our children are grown, and we have 8 grandchildren (ages 12 and under). We’re both active volunteers in our community of 5000 people.

Becky McIntyre purchased this house in 2012

Why Becky McIntyre chose Bisbee

We heard about Bisbee from J.A. Jance’s novels and decided we had to see what high desert winters were all about. T-shirts and shorts in February, that’s what Bisbee is all about! Within two weeks of our arrival, we had decided to buy a house there. Seriously. And no, it wasn’t something we set out to do. But we loved the town, and after two weeks of talking ourselves out of it, we contacted a realtor. The moment we walked through (the old) gate into the private patio, we knew The Toland Adobe was the house for us. A lot of elbow grease, improvements, and shopping later, we opened as a vacation rental in June 2012. We’ve been back many times to make more improvements and to hang out on that wonderful patio. Bryan is quite the handyman and built the fence out front and did all sorts of other jobs. We bring our three large dogs with us and often travel there with our small RV, taking 1-2 weeks each way to sort-of-camp along the way. We hope you enjoy your stay.

What makes this house unique

We chose this house because it had all of the features we wanted: it was only a few minutes from downtown, it has a fenced yard, and it has only a few stairs. It's amazingly private for a home that's minutes from downtown. There is no long hike back up the hills after dinner out, or dozens of stairs to climb with luggage or groceries. We spend as much time as possible at our Bisbee home, enjoying the lovely weather and walking the town with our dogs.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I've been to Bisbee numerous times and the Toland Adobe is by far the best place I've stayed. The house is beautiful, and it's hidden from the street with a great patio/yard that was perfect for my dogs. Unlike many Bisbee houses, there were no steps to reach this one, which is fantastic if you're carrying groceries or aren't capable of stair climbing.

Everything inside the house was in great condition (I also loved the movie collection for guests!) and it was clean and quiet. It was located in Old Bisbee, just a couple minutes walk down to Main Street.

Becky (the owner) was a great landlord and responds to emails promptly. I would highly recommend the Toland Adobe to anyone looking for a Bisbee rental, and I hope to stay there again!

This rental property was so adorable and Becky was such a helpful host. My favorite was the cute courtyard in front that was completely private and perfect for my son to run around without having to worry about him getting out. It is also very close to restaurants and shopping. I would recommend this rental to anyone.

Annual Weekend in Bisbee

  • 5 of 5
This is the second year we have been fortunate enough to stay in the Toland Adobe home, and we love it! A small group of friends travels down from Phoenix the third Saturday of every October to run in the Bisbee 1000 race. Having a comfortable and accommodating home in the heart of Bisbee is the icing on the cake for our weekend. The location is perfect, as it is a 5 minute walk to the heart of downtown Bisbee. Fun shopping, terrific restaurants (try the Screaming Banshee and Santiagos) and beautiful art galleries are all within walking distance.

Perfect Place to Stay!

  • 5 of 5
When returning to Bisbee for our 3rd annual Bisbee 1000 stair climb, we knew we wanted a house within walking distance of downtown, and we found it! This adorable house has all the comforts of home and was the perfect location for our stay. The private patio provided a relaxing spot to unwind after the race. We cooked several meals in the fully equipped kitchen, and the house was extremely clean and well-maintained. We've already booked our stay for next year's race. Thank you for your hospitality! Looking forward to October 2014!

We enjoyed our stay at this funky little cottage, great location close to downtown, very clean and the owner was great with communications. The fenced courtyard was the most appreciated amenity. We would stay here again!

Pefect Little Charmer

We had such a great experience in Bisbee. The house is so charming and well maintained. It has everything you would need. We parked our car upon arrival and walked everywhere the whole weekend. The location is PERFECT! We brought our two doggies and they were welcome just about everywhere we went. The owner is great to work with too. Great fun! We would stay there again for sure.

Charming Secluded Sanctuary

  • 5 of 5
As adorable as Old Bisbee itself, this charming cottage offers the works. Fully equipped kitchen with new appliances, good quality pots, pans and sharp knives. Comfy furniture within an open-style floor plan with hardwood flooring and Saltillo tile. The fenced in courtyard offers both safety and privacy for kids and dogs alike. The owner provides detailed instructions including door-to-door travel directions, as well as tips and suggestions bound in a large red notebook to make your stay a grand success. Walk to Main Street, shop, eat and drink--then walk it all off in the Bisbee hills. The cottage is a home away from home, clean, quiet and calming. After my 7 week stay, I am eager to return!
