4 MIN WALK TO HISTORIC DOWNTOWN, SECLUDED FENCED COURTYARD

Bisbee House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

The Toland Adobe is dog- and kid-friendly!

The Toland Adobe is a charming, historic miner’s home in a quiet neighborhood just a short, 5-minute walk from Main Street. Its tree-shaded, private, tall fence/gated courtyard and close proximity to downtown make it a wonderful vacation destination.

The home was once owned by one of Teddy Roosevelt’s Roughriders, Jesse Toland! The original adobe structure has been modified and upgraded through the years and a well-equipped kitchen, vaulted beadboard ceilings, flat-screen TV, cable, wi-fi, and comfortable beds and lounge areas await your visit.

There are 2 cozy adjoining bedrooms (queen beds) furnished for comfort, and a bath with a clawfoot tub/shower. The living room contains a futon sleeper for additional sleeping accommodations. A laundry room with full-sized washer/dryer is provided.

The Toland Adobe is reached via just a few wide/deep steps (no stairway) into a secluded garden courtyard, from which there is a partial view of the mountains. The yard is private (not shared) and is completely fenced -- perfect for those who like to spend time outside in a romantic setting and also handy for those with children and dogs. The owners are dog lovers who want to ensure dogs are comfortable and safe off-leash. That can be hard to find in Bisbee, but with its garden courtyard outside, and hardwood and tile floors inside, the Toland Adobe is both kid- and dog-friendly.

The Toland Adobe has on-street parking with even more parking in the free city lot nearby.

The house is typical for Bisbee: it's 832 square feet. The living and dining areas are combined.

The house went through lots of updating (painting, refurnishing, a brand new fence, plus a partial kitchen remodel) in May 2012, with more new furnishings, linens, and landscaping added in September 2012. The exterior of the house was painted, and new front screen doors, and a separate window a/c unit for the master bedroom were added in June 2013. In October 2013, we replaced/restored the living room hardwood flooring. In January 2014, we painted 100+ year old exterior walls.

Discover Bisbee! It’s a delightful town to wander.

Guestbook comments from the owner
We took our two dogs with us to stay in this cottage. It is without a doubt the cleanest place we have even stayed and we have rented a lot. One particularly memorable place was filled with broken stuff - the phone, the shower etc. This place has everything in perfect working order, lots of hot water, good water pressure, quality cook ware, (NOT a dented pan left over at the end of a yard sale), sharp knives, good stove, oven, coffee maker and dishwasher. There is even a wall mirror to check the back of your hair!! Plenty of cabinet space and flat space in the bathroom so you don't have to try and hold your make up and comb and curling iron while trying to get ready in the morning. A working electric outlet in the bathroom! The bed is super comfortable, pillows and covers fresh and pretty. Our dogs (the girls) loved the yard and front patio. There are three kinds of pine trees in the front yard, which was a lovely surprise. The yard is super secure, if there was a way out, the girls would have found it. So we were able to let them play in the yard while we watched TV or read and didn't have to watch them every second. We never left them alone so I can't speak to that, but they played in the yard and flower beds and porch and just had a doggie blast. There are a LOT of books and movies, all in good shape like everything else. The furniture is also high quality comfortable stuff like you would have in your home, not the beat up smelly wrecks you sometimes get in rentals. The fridge is full sized, there are far more dishes and silverware than you will ever need, (I even found a potato masher - NOBODY has a potato masher in a rental). There is an extensive collection of spices, as well as some of the basics - sugar, flour, tea, which we did not expect. Another nice surprise. Out in the yard, we saw several types of hummingbirds. This cottage is owned by people who care about their customers. Very quiet, very safe, very nice. I would feel comfortable staying there alone. I am on disability and need wide flat stairs and some handholds and had them all. We have our reservations for our next visit.

We are a middle-aged kid-and-dog loving couple. All of the kids are grown. We have 7.8 :) grandchildren (so far) and 2 dogs.

Becky McIntyre purchased this house in 2012

We made our first visit to Bisbee in February 2012 and immediately fell in love with the town. Daily, we wandered from our lodging to the coffee shop to the library (the oldest in Arizona) to the meandering roads on both sides of Main Street. The town has something going on year round. Within a week, we had started looking at a home to purchase.

We chose this house because it had all of the features we wanted: it was only a few minutes from downtown, it has a fenced yard, and it has only a few stairs. It's amazingly private for a home that's minutes from downtown. There is no long hike back up the hills after dinner out, or dozens of stairs to climb with luggage or groceries. We spend as much time as possible at our Bisbee home, enjoying the lovely weather and walking the town with our two dogs.

PERFECT PLACE TO STAY!

  • 5 of 5
When returning to Bisbee for our 3rd annual Bisbee 1000 stair climb, we knew we wanted a house within walking distance of downtown, and we found it! This adorable house has all the comforts of home and was the perfect location for our stay. The private patio provided a relaxing spot to unwind after the race. We cooked several meals in the fully equipped kitchen, and the house was extremely clean and well-maintained. We've already booked our stay for next year's race. Thank you for your hospitality! Looking forward to October 2014!

We enjoyed our stay at this funky little cottage, great location close to downtown, very clean and the owner was great with communications. The fenced courtyard was the most appreciated amenity. We would stay here again!

PEFECT LITTLE CHARMER

  • 5 of 5
We had such a great experience in Bisbee. The house is so charming and well maintained. It has everything you would need. We parked our car upon arrival and walked everywhere the whole weekend. The location is PERFECT! We brought our two doggies and they were welcome just about everywhere we went. The owner is great to work with too. Great fun! We would stay there again for sure.

CHARMING SECLUDED SANCTUARY

  • 5 of 5
As adorable as Old Bisbee itself, this charming cottage offers the works. Fully equipped kitchen with new appliances, good quality pots, pans and sharp knives. Comfy furniture within an open-style floor plan with hardwood flooring and Saltillo tile. The fenced in courtyard offers both safety and privacy for kids and dogs alike. The owner provides detailed instructions including door-to-door travel directions, as well as tips and suggestions bound in a large red notebook to make your stay a grand success. Walk to Main Street, shop, eat and drink--then walk it all off in the Bisbee hills. The cottage is a home away from home, clean, quiet and calming. After my 7 week stay, I am eager to return!

From the moment we walked into the house, we felt right at home.

It was clean and well appointed. The owner was responsive and easy to reach.

We loved the place and its location. We never drove while we were there. Just walked and enjoyed Bisbee. Cannot wait to go back.

WEEKEND IN BISBEE

  • 5 of 5
Clean well done renovation af a typical funky old Bisbee house. Small but very comfortable and close in to the action in "downtown Bisbee" could walk to all. If you have a dog with you you can walk to several dog friendly outside restaurants (patios). You should list these in the house somewhere. The Savory Spot was exceptionally nice little grotto patio.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review, Michael. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. We love walking around downtown with our 2 dogs. Our favorite dog-friendly eatery is Poco's. We also hang out outdoors at the Bisbee Coffee Co.
