Modern Chalet - Open floor plan with cathedral ceilings.

Full weeks run Friday-Friday. Most rental's require that you leave by a certain time in the morning. As you can expect, most are weekend rentals. We extend the period (in most cases) to 6pm so that you have the entire day to enjoy your stay. This allows the non-outdoor sports participants to use or the skiers/boarders/snowmobilers/bikers not to use to rush to clean the home prior to departure.

Slightly lower rates for parties of 5 or less.

Located five miles from Burke Mountain and Kingdom Trails. Kingdom Trails are 100's of miles of nordic ski and biking trails.

On VAST snowmobile trail. Snwmbl shed has electicity.

Cross country ski, snowshoe or snowmobile for miles.

200 yd sled/toboggan/tubing hill.

2 car garage. Pkng for an additional 6+ cars on drive.

WIFI, Direct TV Network Including Football Sunday Ticket , NBA League Pass, Pool Table,

46' LCD Smart TV in living room.

Awesome views of Burke Mountain to the East. Radar station on the Canadian border to the North.

Ground Floor--Garage, Mudoom + bedroom suite with king plus 2 sets of bunks and shower in bathroom. (Sleeps 6+).

About Matt Hill

My mom and dad loved Burke and the Northeast Kingdom. My dad was an Aeronautical Engineer at Pratt and Whitney—(A United Technologies (UTX) company). They searched for about two years for “a view”. In 1995 they located the prize property. He designed the home and construction began two years later. He designed and oversaw the construction of the house you are considering renting.

Why Matt Hill chose Burke

The house was built with 360 degree views. Northern winters and western winds necessitated the planting of 250 trees on the west side for a windbreak. The trees are now about 40’ tall and protect the house. The house is about one mile off Rt 5, five miles from Burke Mountain and seven miles from Exit 22 on Rt. 91. At the top of the paved (yes that’s how the locals knew my parents were “flatlanders”) 100 yard driveway there is parking for about 10 cars including two indoors under the house.

Should power go out, a full-house generator was installed in December 2012.

Great house

Stayed a week with 7 mountain biking friends. Tons of room and great views.

Everything needed around the house was there and in good shape. Lots of bathrooms, great garage space for bike storage and bike work.

If you're coming to bike @ kingdom trails, the climb back up to the house at the end of the day can be a bit daunting as it is quite the hill, we mostly drove down to one of the many Kingdom Trails parking lots and started/ended there. However if you want a challenge and to increase your vertical numbers, the climb to the house is a good option.

Overall the price was right, the owner was very good, and the house was excellent.

What a wonderful house!......The property was pretty easy to find and not far from the center of town......The house had plenty of space for our party of 9 and you can't beat the views, especially from the kitchen and dining room. Even on a cloudy weekend the views were awesome. The house was clean and had everything we needed including a BBQ grill. There were plenty of beds and they were all very comfortable. Can't wait till our next trip to the area to return to this gem of a home.

Brilliant location, great house, fantastic owner

We visited this great house for 3 days of Mtn biking at the Kingdom trails. The house was fantastic. The beds were great. The location was ideal. And the owner was wonderful to work with.
Prompt emails and returned phone calls. Even thoughtful TXTs like, "I didn't have time to install a microwave. If you need one, just purchase it and I will reimburse you." That is the kind of owner you will be renting from.
We left on Sunday and by Tuesday he had already returned our deposit.
The best recommendation I can give you is that we are planning to stay here again for our next visit.
Owner's Response: WOW. I'll take those comments anyday. The guests were extremely easy and friendly to work with as well.
