As an avid yachting family, the home was designed like no other to capture views, breezes, and the materials and furnishings used in the home reflect their best memories of yachting throughout New England and the Islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, the San Juan Islands in the Pacific North West, the Caribbean and Bahamas.
The view, amenities and the private location is beyond compare. The home is highly sought after and praised for its design, and has been published in 8 different local, regional and national glossy magazines, as well as news-papers and television. The anonymity of our guest list is paramount. Perhaps the most common unique benefit for our guests -- who have included famous actors, athletes and public figures -- has been the absolute privacy of the location, completely disconnected to the rest of the world -- yet still very close to everything with a boat.
We had stayed in Sarasota before and would always admire the prominent house as we crossed the bridge adjacent. On this trip, we made sure to stay here. With a toddler, teenagers and adults, nothing could really be more perfect. Having your own boat adds to the thrill. The house encompasses everything from boat adventure to a nap between the trees. It truly covers all you'd want from a holiday, whatever it may be. The owner is very hospitable and approachable and makes the stay even more comfortable. We will certainly be back.
We found Longboat Key many years ago when the children were small and have spent numerous holidays there over the years. To celebrate my 50th birthday we wanted something different and unique. The property and the island lived up to all our expectations. The house was tastefully furnished, whilst fitting into the natural surroundings of the island. Watching the sunset every night was special enough, but waking up at night and watching the moon across the water had us spell bound. Mornings would have us out on the many decked areas watching the wildlife around us. The week spent in this magical place will stay with us forever.
My husband and I ( and our 3 small dogs ) rented this lovely home for almost 2 months last year. We needed to be in the area to tend to a sick relative who was living nearby in Bradenton, and this was a beautiful sanctuary to be able to do it from. The house has everything you need, nice clean style, comfy beds, high end kitchen and appliances. I especially like the private outdoor shower. The house has the ability to open up completely and let in the fresh air thru the screened in porches which was amazing. You need to rent a boat to access the island, which Steve the owner can advise you on. The owners are very helpful and kind people. A unique experience that I'm sure the whole family can enjoy.
My new husband and I spent a week's honeymoon at this beautiful house, and it was plain perfect. It is the most comfortable, stylish, immaculate rental we've ever stayed in, and the private-island location and gardens are spectacular. Deciding where to watch the amazing sunset each night was the most trouble we encountered on the whole trip (which of the decks? which hammock? from the dock? the adirondacks...?). It is the most magical place -- we couldn't recommend it more highly, and we can't wait to go back with friends and family. Thank you Stephen and Catherine!
Beautiful house, feels like a home. I was amazed at the small touches like the nature sculptures and collections in the home. This feels like staying at a home from a travel/home design magazine (well it was). Owners are easy to reach and very hospitable. I would definitely stay here again.
We spent a week at this wonderful home with another family. The large yard for frisbee throwing, island exploration, tree house with its own hammock and sand bar just off the beach made every moment fun. The many water toys (paddle boards, kayaks and canoe) kept kids thrilled with adventure. That is, when they could leave the rope swing. The open kitchen was ideal for a large pancake breakfast, and the screened areas were perfect for cocktails. With great restaurants a short boat ride away, meals were an excuse for fun as well. Mid-week, the property owner called to check in He graciously made us all feel at home, as welcome guests, at this spectacular property. Those of us who needed to get a bit of work done over the week had quiet spots and reliable internet access. Over all, this is a great property for togetherness with family and friends and gave us memories to last a lifetime.

Private beach and deep water boat dock at your front door and a heavily forested island with a foot path down the middle length of the island.
