(My quote may differ than auto-calculated quote. Please view the rental's calendar before sending an inquiry. The calendar is up-to-date. Kindly note that reservations that are more than 30 days in the future sometimes require a 7 night minimum stay.)

Beautiful apartment (top floor with street level access) with very special garden. This 1100 sq ft newly renovated & artfully designed top-floor flat is an oasis offering a view that looks over a tree-filled panorama that takes in the San Francisco Bay, the Bay Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge, and San Francisco skyline often framed within a dramatic sunset.

This flat is completely private with private access to the flat and the deck. Access is from street level, through the front door. It feels more like a single-family house than an apartment.

One great advantage to this location is its micro climate, usually sunny and warm with no fog! It is located in the Maxwell Park neighborhood of Oakland (check it out on Wikipedia).

Located on a quiet one-block residential street, the home has the feeling of a retreat. The expansive back deck overlooks a lush garden where you may lounge, or soak in the pergola-covered hot tub. Depending on the season, you may eat plums, figs, or apples right off their trees. And you may find yourself entertained by the antics of many humming birds.

Every room in the home, except for one bedroom and the bathroom, has lovely views. One bedroom offers a view of the San Francisco Bay, even from the bed! From this bedroom a French door opens onto a curved deck that has cushy seating. Each bedroom has a very comfortable, queen-size bed. The bathroom has been updated with tile and granite. A full-size washer and dryer are located off the bathroom, hidden by a closed pocket door.

The kitchen is fully furnished with cookware, utensils, and place settings. The kitchen décor is vintage and features a Wedgewood gas cook stove.

The Deck extends the entire width of the flat. Deck access is also available from the kitchen area, and this deck area is furnished with a bar-height table where you can enjoy a repast with your fellow guests.

A desk work area is available and wireless internet access is provided.

As an antidote to work, you may cozy up to the gas fireplace and watch the 41 inch flat screen television (satellite DirecTV).

You are minutes from the peaceful groves of a hidden forest of redwoods in the Redwood Regional Park’s 1,829 acres where you may mountain bike, hike, or picnic. You are within walking distance to Mills College (1/10th of a mile) and you are 16 minutes from UC Berkeley. The location’s proximity to the 580 Freeway gives you fast access to many attractions including Lake Merritt, Jack London Square, Grand Lake Theater (movies), the Paramount Theater (live music), and many excellent restaurants. You are only a 23 minute drive from San Francisco, but you may prefer to take the scenic ferry that will deliver you to the SF Ferry Building (and its many wonderful markets) or to Fisherman’s wharf. 15 minutes from Oakland Airport! 37 minutes from- San Francisco International Airport!

The photo is of me in front of the house. My husband and I travel frequently and whenever possible we rent a home or apartment rather than stay in a hotel. We value comfort and convenience and keep in mind our own expectations and preferences when furnishing our rental. If given a choice, we will always choose a home with a garden, and a hot tub is always a bonus. After a day of touring and sight seeing, we enjoy sitting in a beautiful outside setting, enjoying each other and a glass of wine. We want to provide you with the best possible lodging experience to complement your enjoyment of the Bay Area. We are huge fans of the Bay Area and enjoy its offerings of beautiful nature and urban delights as though we are tourists. My husband was a frequent Bay Area visitor (from New England) when I met him here through mutual friends 8 years ago. After I spent two cold north eastern winters with him, he came to his senses and moved to the temperate climate of the Bay Area. We married 5 years ago, and he has no regrets about relocating!

The Owner purchased this apartment in 1992

*Sunny, warm climate, no fog! *Views *Garden *Peaceful and Serene *Central proximity to the Bay and San Francisco, Napa Valley, and other tourist attractions. Within walking distance of Mills College. Close-knit neighborhood of middle class professionals.

Proximity to Bay Area/Napa tourist destinations. Very romantic and private for a love-nest get-away. Wonderful home for families visiting relatives. Great for Grandparents!

Lovely characterful property, perfectly equipped and maintained. We were a party of three visiting from Scotland and found Oasis enchanting. The owner provided excellent service and was very easily contactable (we were too daft to figure out you needed to let the tap run a bit to get hot water....). The apartment was spotless and the verandah and garden beautiful. Even although it was February we took full advantage f the hot tub and grilled delicious steaks on the gas BBQ. Unfortunately we could only stay for a week but would have loved to stay much longer. It was an excellent base to explore the area in and around San Francisco: Napa Valley, Marin County, Berkely etc. we cannot wait to return and sincerely hope we can stay here again. Top marks to owners Dee and Kevin!

Amazing Oakland Rental

We rented this house for a weekend visit in Oakland and were really happy with it. The fee is very reasonable and we got a lot for our money. The house itself is well-decorated and beautiful, but the view from the back balcony is stunning! We sat out there in there morning with our coffee and again for dinner to enjoy the view. The owners are very easy to work with and provided a lot of thoughtful amenities including robes and yoga mats. We were able to relax at the end of the day in the well-maintained hot tub. Our only disappointment was that we didn't have time to use the fire pit area. We would definitely rent this home again.

My husband and I came to Oakland to visit our married son. We brought with us our daughter and husband. Fairbarin was the perfect place for all six of us to be together for the Olympics in front of the fireplace, and around the dining table for dinner. Loved the decorating, very clean with all the ammenities of a hotel. Fabulous bedding and new bathroom. I will stay here again and again. Dee was very responsive and easy to work with. We didn't get to enjoy the outside because it rained all four days we were there, but it looks nice from the balcony!! It is all and more that it claims to be.

This rental was very nice. The owners were very accommodating, and I was provided all the privacy I could ask for. What I liked the most was having the fireplace in the living room...a very nice touch to a lovely room. The wooden floors was my next favorite feature of the rental. Also, a previous review mentioned not having a dishwasher, but I thought not having a dishwasher was part of the "old world" charm of the kitchen & I wouldn't change a thing about the kitchen. Thanks for a great stay, and I'd love to stay here the next time I'm in town!

Notes:
Panoramic view of the San Francisco Bay and San Francisco and Oakland city skylines. Beautiful, serene lush garden with sitting areas, meditation area, and pergola-covered hot tub with adjacent decks. A meditation patio, over-looked by a statue of the compassionate Quan Yin, allows you to sit and contemplate the beauty of a redwood framed by an arbor. At the back of the garden, a firepit-- circled by comfortable chairs-- allows for fireside evenings where you can feel you're on a camp-out. Our favorite backyard being is a huge poplar tree --a condo for many birds and other wildlife-- that we think may be the largest in the Bay Area. When it has its leaves, its swaying creates a beautiful music of chattering leaves and serves up afternoon shade for the deck. In almost every season, there is some fresh fruit: plums, apples, figs, or blackberries.
