Floyd and Geri, married 40 yrs with 5 children, are now enjoying 10 grandchildren, and have lived all our lives in the Northeast corner of Indiana. Our oldest is a Dr. with 4 children and is a missionary in Laos, next a college basketball coach with 2 boys, another Dr. of emergency med, our fourth a financial wiz and our youngest finishes college this year and will probably go to law school. We share this ownership with our brother and his wife and a good friend and his wife who live just a couple hours west of us.

Geri Henney purchased this condo in 2007

We spent a couple years in South America and then rode motorcycles through Central America during the mid-seventies on our way home. We fell in love with the beauty and the people of Costa Rica. Years later when we were looking for an investment property Costa Rica was the natural conclusion. The Pacific West Coast of Costa Rica is ideal and so awesome.

We love that we can always count on the weather to be great, we have great flight routes, our time is always relaxing and we eat healthy and get some great exercise with our sunshine. Our community is very private and the views are locked into our memory forever.

We had a great stay in this lovely condo. The condo is quite spacious and is very nicely decorated. A very clean and well maintained swimming pool is only a few steps away from the rear patio. Several condos share this pool, but we had it all to ourselves during our stay.

The condo is nicely furnished and very well equipped. My wife and I are Michigan Wolverine fans and my son is a MSU Spartan. We were pleasantly surprised to find the Big Ten Network on the cable system. We enjoyed being able to watch a few football games that we weren't expecting to be able to watch.

One of the nicest features of this condo is the patio furniture…by far, the nicest patio set-up in the development. Our family enjoyed being able to comfortably sit/talk/grill/relax outdoors.

My wife and I have lived in Costa Rica for 8 years. We are very familiar with Guanacaste beaches. Playa Panama is an exceptional beach. Playa Panama has a gentle surf, a nice sand beach and lots of shade trees along the beach. Beach umbrellas are not needed at Playa Panama.

It is about 2 miles to the beach…and a very difficult walk. This distance from the beach has two benefits: 1) the condo’s high elevation provides a beautiful ocean view and 2) the location is very quiet, peaceful and secure.

One previous guest had a problem with security. Security issues in Costa Rica increase as you stay closer to the beach. We had no problems with security. The doors all have good locks. Maintenance and guards maintain a low profile, but are never far away. The local guard dog “Negro” is very friendly and alert. He monitors movement within the complex. He quickly became our 2 year old granddaughter's best friend.

My daughter is not easy to please. She wanted me to rent a condo closer to Playa Hermosa. At the end of the week, she acknowledged that she loved the condo and enjoyed Playa Panama. She begrudgingly acknowledged that I had made a good decision. As the credit card commercial suggests…Priceless!!!

My boyfriend and I chose to stay at this house for a wedding that was taking place at the hilton 2miles up the road. all of our friends stayed at the hilton but we did not regret our choice to stay at this amazing house!
The house was prefect and we could not have asked for more. It is fully equipped with everything you would ever need. From kitchen supplies to bathroom and laundry amenities.

The house is very nice and clean. My friends that stayed at the hilton had problems with insects and raccoon's. We didn't have any bugs inside of the house and would wake up to parrots singing in the backyard.

We went scuba diving, fishing twice (I recommend Captain Al, his info is in the book of recommendations at the house), zip-lining, atving, hiking and hung out in coco quite a few times. You can book trips from coco beach or at the hilton. The prices we found were pretty comparable at each of the locations.

You must rent a car. I was glad the property management suggested this, we would have been miserable without one, but it is very cheap and everything you need is off of one main road.

I highly Recommend this house and would love to go back soon!

Unfortunately, we got robbed here, in this particular house, at the Lomas del Pacifico in Playa Panama, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, which my family and I found in this website. This place was heaven on earth, the infinity pool right next to it was nice, and the pool down on the common areas was also very new and peaceful. The furniture was modern and comfortable. The kitchen somewhat well equipped. But on our last day there we got robbed. Someone went inside the house while we were out; they stole a hefty amount of money and jewelry from us. They did it very carefully, and left everything as if nothing had happened, so it was until the next day, as we were getting ready that we realized some of our jewelry was missing... we then checked and yes, we had been robbed. It was so sad, in this very house we were reduced to tears, we felt violated. We placed our complaint to the local authorities, who apparently got no cooperation from the property manager Daryl; the complex manager never showed up despite being informed of the crime, so at the investigation stalled. All of our Christmas presents were gone :( It is sad that something so sad (despite two guards!) could happen at such a nice place. I would not stay here again, I would fear for my safety.

Owner's Response: We are the property manager for the home in question, and yes the renters advised us that they had been robbed when we arrived to check them out. We had not been advised prior and the renters asked for an extra few hours so that they could wait for the police to arrive to make a report of the missing items. We manage 4 other condos in the same complex and part of our job is to inspect them twice per week, while doing our inspections one day while these particular tenants were staying at the condo we noticed that the patio door was open in the master bedroom plus the A/C was running & wasting electricity so I rang the doorbell to ask them to close the door or turn off the A/C. When no one answered I walked around the outside to close the door, apparently their son inside saw me and walked into the bedroom where I explained the high cost of electricity. In my opinion this is possibly what happened when the items went missing - a door was left open.

The home has an alarm system which the guests did not set, all of the windows have bars to place in the track and these were not used but the bottom line is there was no sign of forced entry. The guests explanation to that was possibly someone picked the deadbolt lock - which means that the thieves would have to pick the lock again to lock it when they left. In the five years that we have managed units in that complex no one has ever been robbed, the security is very good as there are two different guard stations and one of the guards only has to supervise 12 condos. It seems very strange to us that guests would not take the precautions to lock doors, set the alarm and that the thieves could slip by two different guards.

The strangest part of the robbery is that the only items missing belonged to the guests and it was 1/2 pairs of earrings taken out of a jewelry box (normally a thief would take everything in the box and sort thru it later not waste time sorting thru what he wanted. Generally when a break in occurs in Costa Rica the first thing that disappears are the TV's, DVDs and none of these were taken in this particular case.

In Costa Rica must look after a few things themselves such as locking doors, setting alarms and placing security bars in windows - my wife and I have lived here for the past 7 1/2 years and have never had an incident.

A group of 8 stayed this past week and absolutely loved it. We were unsure if we would regret not renting a place on the beach until staying here and seeing the beach front properties on-site verses on-line. We have no regrets! The condo was so spacious with great amenities. We loved having the laundry facilities, which kept packing to a minimum. We would definately return. We all thought it would be a great rental for a family reunion with plenty to do nearby. If you are looking to book in the near future, do it but check on these items before going down: The icemaker was broken. In a country that grows coffee you would expect a coffee grinder not just a coffee maker (a blender doesn't cut it if you like a fine grind). The kitchen could use more utensils for cooking. (You can get the best meat and fresh fish around so we did a lot of cooking). There were no beach towels or chairs. However they were happy to provide the towels on request. The hair dryer was broken. We left it out with a note.

Owner's Response: The ice maker works, it is the dispenser that stopped working and in a foreign country it takes a little longer to get things repaired. We used the ice maker all the time we were there and just emptied the ice into a bowl to remove it easily from the freezer, thereby bypassing the dispenser on the door. We have added a coffee bean grinder and replaced the beach towels. All items obviously very minimal. Thank you. So glad you enjoyed the condo and had a great time.

When planning my trip to Costa Rica in 2009 I was looking for a vacation that would allow me to immerse myself in the local culture, explore the renown tropical terrain, experience the coastal nightlife, and relax with friends. This Playa Hermosa Villa exceeded my expectations! Our days consisted of zip-lining through the rainforest, surfing or hanging out at the beach, having picnics near gorgeous waterfalls, shopping at nearby grocery stores, and interacting with locals (in Spanish and English, the locals speak both). With its fantastic views, numerous swimming pools and tennis courts, the villa gave us the opportunity to reconvene with our co-travelers, cook meals together, use high-speed internet to plan our next excursion, and relax after a long day of adventures. There were dozens of top-rated restaurants within 10 minutes of the villa, as well as beach bars and clubs just down the road. Whether it was going on sunset boat tours, zip-lining through the rainforest, eating incredible fresh fruit, or just hanging out with monkeys, there was never a dull moment. I would recommend this villa to anyone who wanted to have a true experiencia costa riquena!

My husband and I, along with a group of friends, had the opportunity to spend a week in Costa Rica at the Henney House in 2007. The accommodations provided all the amenities of home, along with being in very close proximity to town, great beaches and lots of other activities. The private pool was such a treat, as it allowed us to enjoy each other without leaving the house on days where we were looking to relax. We drove to a national park for a full day ziplining excursion, which we all loved.

Overall, this was an unforgettable vacation that was made that much better by having such luxurious accommodations. We will definitely be going back!
