3 bedrooms, sleeps 6, 1 bathroom.

This small 16th century manor house is a typical example of the beautiful local architecture.It has been renovated very carefully in order to keep its original characteristics, using only the best material and workmanship but in the same time, it has all the modern conveniences you can find in a modern house.

Located 30 km away from the tip of the Cotentin peninsula, it offers a great variety of seascapes , from white sandy beaches to steep cliffs where one can drive to in half an hour. Between the house and the sea, the landscapes are also very different from one another, as you can find marshes, forests, rivers and the local rural ' bocage' and its hedges .

This area is also where the Second World War D-DAY and allied landings took place, there are a lot of sites regarding that period to visit.

The house itself is in a village without immediate neighbours , and has three different gardens where one can relax, have a barbecue etc.

The house is only a couple of miles away from a Nature park , ' Le Parc National des Marais du Bessin et du Cotentin'

There are nice walks to go on from the house.

About Hélène Leneveu

I grew up in Paris where I currently live ,but my family is from Normandy.

I am an artist and teach languages.

Why Hélène Leneveu chose Valognes

After having returned from a 9 year stay in Asia, I got hold of this house that my family had been owning for at least 200 years.It was in a very poor state so it took me more than 10 years to renovate it.

What makes this house unique

It is quite small for a mannor house so it is very cosy and yet it does look like a tiny château.

I like to come here alone as well, it feels very safe and comfortable.

And being in the middle of the very narrow Cotentin Penninsula makes evrything very easy to get to.

The house is right at the edge of the Parc des Marais du Cotentin , a protected park with waterways, marshes, moors and hedgerows.
