Why the Owner Chose Whitefield: While vacationing at a friend's house in the White Mountains in 1976, we had heard so much about Forest Lake. A curious turn short of the public beach landed us right next door to the log cabin that would soon become ours. Rebuilt in 1998, our family has enjoyed countless holidays, summers, winter breaks and weekends in our wonderful log cabin.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin: Private Lighted Tennis Court, Private Swimming Raft, 2 Private Decks, Full Amenities, Coffee Maker, Toaster Oven, DirecTV on LCD TV in Den, and Master bedroom. So quiet you will hear the Loons wail in early morning along with the birds.

Most beautiful location for all seasons vacation. Two cleared acres, tennis court with lights, 325 ft lake front, two decks; One with remote awning for rain while cooking & eating out, full sun most days over house, beautiful sunsets, peace and quiet all times.
Swing glider on dock seating four, mountain views, beautiful summer nights to sit out on docks and count too many stars, often in a bright silver moon, property location is very private, serene, and many return summer after summer.

You are welcome back anytime and hope to see you again. -Jim
My husband and his family have been going to Forest Lake for over 80 years. Some have not been able to return in quite a few years. We decided to give it another try with the 5th generation in tow. It was wonderful. My grandchildren were with us along with my husband's cousin, her daughter and grandchild. We had a wonderful time and the house was perfect. We look forward to returning hopefully this summer. Thank you Jim Walker the house is everyting you said it was and more.

We spent a wonderful week here celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary with our children, their spouses and our grandchildren. We found the cabin to be very spacious and beautiful. Very well maintained. Everything was well supplied, from towels, linens and kitchen needs. The lake was perfect for boating, kayaking and fishing. Swimming off the floating dock was fun. We played bocce and other games in the large back yard and the boys enjoyed playing basketball. We left the property only twice, once for an ice cream and the other time to go into Lincoln to play miniature golf at the Hobo village. We would recommend this property to others and would consider coming back ourselves.

We just spent a week at this fantastic home on Forest Lake. I don’t even know where to begin. As soon as we drove in the driveway we could see that this was a special place in a special location. The house itself is just beautiful – plenty of room. We were a group of 10 people (my husband and me, our son and daughter in law, our daughter and son in law and their 4 children, ages 3, 8, 10 and 18) The house just fit us to a “T”. I had read in previous reviews how well stocked the kitchen is and that is absolutely true! No need to bring any spices, sugar, salt, etc. It is all there. All the pots and pans that you could need. The view of the lake and mountains from the family room is spectacular! The bedrooms are perfect and the beds very comfortable – the laundry room is on the second floor which is so convenient. The two decks are lovely – one shady and one sunny! The awning is very helpful when the sun gets too hot or it rains! Very easy to operate from the remote on the wall. Plenty of chairs outside. The tennis court and basketball hoop was a big hit with the grandkids! My grandson loves to shoot baskets! There are so many places to sit and relax that it takes the week to try them all out!
The lake itself is gorgeous – we had some beautiful sunsets and got some great pictures! My favorite time of day was between 6 and 7 am when I would sit down on the dock all by myself with a cup of coffee looking at the water (which is smooth as glass at that time of day) and listening to the loons.
My grandsons had a blast doing some fishing. The swimming was awesome and they really enjoyed going out to the raft and jumping off! We couldn’t get them out of the water!
Jim has thought of everything, providing the Johnny boat and canoe for recreation, the lovely antique glider on the dock, and everything else to make vacations just perfect! He is so helpful and spends time explaining everything on the property and in the house. It is clear that this is a very special place to him and we are so grateful to him that we could spend a wonderful week at his little slice of heaven! Thank you Jim - We can’t wait to return next year!
I've been renting in Northern NH for the better part of 20 years, this property (could be referred to as a compound) by far, is the best I've ever stayed in. Aside from hitting the local grocery mart to restock the fridge, we never felt a need to leave. Photos do not do this place justice. Huge yard with over an acre of open space for kids (or adults) to play in, lit tennis courts with a basket ball hoop, and the lake is literally 8 feet from the back deck of the house. Incredible views. Everything you need for a great vacation. Make sure you bring your own life jackets if you're going to use the boats on the property, as there are several canoes/paddle boats for use.
James, the owner, is a warm, engaging and interesting man who will make sure you get the most of your stay by walking you through the intricacies of the property on the phone. Our group will definitely be returning this year and for years to come.
