Camden House Rental Photos and Description
3 bedrooms, 2 baths, sleeps 7, water view!
Updated antique home very close to the harbor. Beautiful stamped tin ceilings and wide-plank pine floors add charm, while the updated kitchen and bathrooms provide modern comfort and convenience. The master bedroom has a queen bed and a view of Penobscot Bay. The guest bedroom offers a queen bed with a twin trundle bed underneath. The third bedroom has two extra-long twin beds. There is a private deck off the back overlooking a small lawn, plush perennial gardens, and views of the bay. The perfect spot to kick back and relax while watching the boating activity of the harbor, or enjoying an evening camp fire in the fire bowl. From our house it is an easy and very short walk around the harbor to Camden's wonderful shops and restaurants. The public boat launch is just down the street, which makes it very easy to launch your kayaks.
All beds are new. Cable television and wifi are included. Please note that both bathrooms are on the second floor and the staircase is steep, so our home is not appropriate for the elderly or small children. We do not have A/C, but with the breeze off the bay it is rarely needed. No smoking is allowed on the premises.
This is a year round house and we are happy to rent in all seasons. There is no place lovelier than Camden in December!
- unsuitable for elderly or infirm
- non smoking only
- wheelchair inaccessible
- pets not allowed
About Betsy Cahoon
I grew up visiting Maine every summer, and it has always held a special place in my heart. During the summer of 1975 I was lucky enough to spend a week on the Mary Day, and fell in love with Camden. In 2004 I brought my family to Camden for the first time, and we have returned every summer since. In November 2011 we were lucky enough to purchase this house, and we spend as much time there as we can manage around our four boys' active schedules.

Why Betsy Cahoon chose Camden
My husband and I have always loved antique houses. We knew we wanted a house in Camden, with a view of Penobscot Bay if possible. When we found this home, in pristine condition, so close the the water and a short walk to town, we could not pass it by. Each time we get here we love it more.
What makes this house unique
Our favorite feature is the view of the Bay from the living room and the deck. It is very relaxing just sitting back watching the schooners come and go in the summer or reading a book on the deck. The quiet streets around our house are also great for long walks, while the walk into town for a fabulous meal is short and easy. The best surprise has been the friendliness of our neighbors and the sense of community. Recently we have purchased a few kayaks and look forward to trying them out from the Public Boat Launch next summer. We are willing to share with experienced kayakers.
