It is right on Columbia Road a block away from 18th Street -- the heart of Adams Morgan with all the restaurants, night life, shopping and entertainment. Short walk to Metro stations on either Red or Green lines, Metro Buses right outside the building door for easy access to National Mall, White House, museums and galleries.
You may know that Adams Morgan - the primary 'go out' destination in Washington. Short walking distance away in Mt. Pleasant neighborhood, where you will find the best Salvadorian food and music. In the opposite direction, short walking distance away, there is Dupont Circle, another area of interest, with some upscale restaurants, fancy shops as well as art galleries. Another area of interest is U Street, it's either a 20 min walk or one stop by train, there you will find some of the best (if not the very best) jazz bars in the city, as well as the best Ethiopian restaurants (the Ethiopian community in Washington is quite large). And this is just a primer.
There are also two Bikeshare stations and plenty of Zip Cars.
