Our large luxurious two bedroom split level flat will appeal to those wishing to stay in one of the best locations in Central London. The flat is directly opposite Trafalgar Square with a direct view of Nelson's Column .This really is located in the Heart of London and families will love the location. It would also be a great choice for a couple seeking a special space to stay in London. The flat is fully double glazed to block out most noise from outside..Our guests will also benefit from air conditioning for what can be hot summer nights! .There's also a big lift (elevator) to allow the ever necessary ease with the suitcases. The flat is situated on the second floor of a period building(built in the 1890's). It keeps most of its traditional charm but is very much adapted to life in the 21st century. We really do believe that this should be one of the best homes from home in the West End.

There's a very fast WI FI connections and satellite TV.We also provide a selection of DVD's when the rain becomes too much for our guests and they want to enjoy an evening in.A vast selection of reading material is available in addition to a selection of magazines.

There is a very large dining area. There's a table with seating for up to 8 dinner guests. Dining in will really be a total pleasure with a view to remember. We provide plenty of high quality pots, pans, dishes, serving plates and the ever necessary wine and champagne glasses and flutes. The kitchen has all the appliances one will need to make their vacation a pleasure and not a chore. The main bedroom has a large double bed.

The other bedroom is up in a separate mezzanine area and has two single beds. This bedroom is ideal for those travelling with teenagers or young children. We also provide a full height airbed that is very comfortable. The large L shaped sofa is an ideal bed too and will sleep a large or tall adult with ease.We have a cot for those with very young children. An extra cot can be provided at no extra charge. There's also a highchair.

The bathroom has a full sized tub with shower above. There's a full length mirror and hairdryer. There's constant hot water so this is ideal for larger groups. We provide good quality towels and a selection of soaps and bath bubbles are also included.

The flat has hard wood flooring in the main rooms.

A visit to Hamley's on Regent St is a must for those travelling with children...or for the young at heart. Foyles Bookshop on Charing Cross Road is one of the best bookshops in London with a vast selection on offer. Stanfords Travel Bookshop on Long Acre in Covent Garden is the ideal place to pick up a unique gift/postcard for those back home.If you're travelling to mainland Europe after London, they also have all everyhthing one could need for travel research. This shop is wonderful. The flat is also close to Cecil Court. This is a small tranquil liitle street lined with a delightful selection of independent bookshops. You'll only a quick journey away from both Harvey Nichols and Harrods. The closest huge department store will be Fenwicks where you'll find high quality English products. We do have to mention that a trip to Fortnum and Mason is a divine experience that shouldn't be missed. You'll be able to walk there with ease. The window displays are always stunning.

The main theatres of London are all within a few moments walk/so no need to take a cab. From musicals to the best in drama, there should be something to suit most tastes. The Official London Theatre office is located in Leicester Sqaure /a few minutes away. This is one of the best places to buy tickets at a discount. It's run by the Society of London Theatre and tickets go on sale daily for that shows later on the same day.

Fancy a pint? James and I were finding ourselves being asked that question so many times from our guests that we're now on a mission to recommend the best ones in the West End. The Red Lion,The Sherlock Holmes,The Ship and Shovell,Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese are tops of the list so far. We have printed out a list of pubs and placed them in out guidebook. If we missed a good one, please let us know and we'll pay it a visit and put it in the guide. We welcome suggestions. It doesn't matter how long you live in London there's always something new to discover.

Hop on or Hop off Bus Tours have a stop right near the flat. This is a great way to see some of the main London sights. The bus tour offers good value for money.

London is a great place to shop for gifts. All of the major museums have wonderful gift shops with a range of unique treats on offer. The elegant , Regency-period Burlington Arcade is worth a visit during your stay. This is about a 7 minute walk from the flat/on the way to the Royal Academy. If you wish to bring back some scented delights ,trip to Penhaligon's in Covent Garden is the place to go. They still sell the same flower based scents that sold over a century ago.Miller Harris is also worth a visit.

London has some of the best street markets in the world and if there's time your trip should include at least one. Camden Lock Market is best on Saturdays and Sundays.Notting Hill Portbello Road is best on Fridays and Saturdays. The Jubille and Apple Markets located in the Covent Garden Piazza still have a good selection of British made products. The Columbia Road Flower Market is lovely. It's such a nice place to walk around. The Piccadilly Crafts Market is only less than a 10 min walk from the flat in is situated in the courtyard of St James's Church. This market dates from the Middle Ages and even if you don't buy anything, the backdrop of Wren bulit church is simply stunning.

Keeping fit(or trying to on holiday)The best advice we can give is to try and walk everywhere. This location will make that quite easy as it's safe and very easy to walk to many of London's attractions. For those that wish to have a work out whilst on holiday, most gyms in Central London now sell day passes. There's also horse riding available during the Sping months and for those travelling in winter London has two very romantic outdoor skating rinks. The first one is just outside the V&A Museum and the second one is located on the Strand/Somerset House(about a 10 min walk from the flat)There's also the annual Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park that plays host to all sorts of fun winter events. There's a nearby Boris Bikes docking station and this can als be a fun way of getting around.A walk along the South Bank is an ideal way to spend a morning or afternoon. Please make sure you stop off at Borough Market which has the BEST food market in London.Outstanding produce! The Southbank also has a very good and far too tempting international food market. This is located just near the Royal Festival Hall. This is a wonderful place to stop if you're out for a show at the Shakespeare Globe or at the Festival Hall.

We do advise guests that are staying for longer than two night to do a food shop as soon as possible. There's are two large grocery shops located within a block of the flat. There's also a huge Whole Foods Market about a 10 minute walk away for excellent quality(although expensive food)The Co-Op near the flat is open 24 hours and has a surprsing range of food at good prices.

Great location in the heart of London

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful loft apartment that easily accommodates 5 people. Cozy yet spacious, with a fully stocked kitchen and laundry. Walking distance to dozens of great eateries, several National Galleries, and the Tube. The only drawback was having no curtains on the windows that open onto the square. Otherwise, it was perfect!

Ideal London Apartment

  • 5 of 5

We were a party of 4 that visited in late September/early October 2014. The flat was exactly as described, some pictures don't do it justice -we found it quite roomy and comfortable, with the view out to Trafagar mesmerizing. For our intentions, the flat could not have been better located -the convenience of buses just outside our doorstep was amazing and we enjoyed the efficiency of London transport! Of course, if you look at a map you'll notice there is more than a weeks worth within walking distance as well. All in all this was a fantastic stay, and the price point given the location and comfort were right on. Finally, James and Charlene were very responsive and easy to deal with -Thank you!

great central location

  • 3 of 5

My family of 4 stayed at this flat for 8 days in July 2014. I really loved the central location. Trafalgar square right at your doorstep. That being said, the traffic noise was quite loud into the apartment. Siren's all hours of day, honking etc. We did get used to the noise by the 2nd day so it didn't disrupt our sleep too much. The master room does not have a king size bed by north american standards. It is a double or perhaps a small queen. Comfortable but small. My children enjoyed the loft room, and found the beds comfortable. There is no closet space in the master room. I was hanging my clothes from door handles. I found the apartment cluttered with books and obviously used for someone's storage. I did tell Charlene this when we spoke on the phone. The Air conditioning worked wonderfully and saved our holiday as there was a heat wave going on during our week in London. The loft has huge windows that let in the afternoon sun. Beautiful view of the street. There was no microwave or coffee maker in the kitchen as stated on this website. There was a "coffee press". I was told most european houses have a press instead of a drip machine. I did have a real coffee maker in my rental in Paris, however. The bathroom was large and had great water pressure in the shower. It does need to be renovated somewhat. I also spoke to Charlene about this. My family had a wonderful time in London. The apartment was great for it's location and the air conditioning. It was a little below my expectations in other areas for the price I paid.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comment about your stay. James and I are pleased to hear you really enjoyed the location of the flat and overall you seemed to enjoy the flat. We have now put a microwave in the flat as this can be handy for guests that wish to cook this way. We've also bought a coffee maker so our guests can choose what type of coffee to have.I totally understand this and over the years we just get used to the coffee press types but appreciate some people prefer a drip style machine.I have to say I love having the books around and some guests really enjoy them.We have made more space for hanging clothes.I appreciate your comments and this is how we can improve matters for future guests. Best Wishes Charlene and James

Great apartment with wonderful views!

  • 5 of 5

We were a family of 5 that stayed 3 nights. We really enjoyed the location, the views from the balcony, and convenience being near so much. The owners were pleasant to work with. We loved being able to walk across the street to the Trafalgar Square to people watch or have lunch. Grocers and coffee shops were close so it was easy to get a quick meal. . We walked all over London, with the exception to the Tower of London we did take the Tube. So much history right near the apartment. We would stay again.

Flat in the Heart of London

  • 5 of 5

We just finished three nights at the Trafalgar Square flat and can report it was as advertised. The renters were great and easy to deal with. The location is the best part of this flat. You could spend a week in London and never even get on the tube as most of the top tourist sights are within walking distance. Please note, there is traffic noise. You are overlooking roads that get used 24/7. So if you need complete silence to sleep you will need to take this into consideration. We like city noise so it was great for us.

Owner's Response: We're pleased to hear that you loved the location of the flat.It really is one of the best in Central London. It's so difficult in the West End to get 100% quiet but some noise is to be expected in this location. We hope you come back and stay again. Best Wishes Charlene and James

Fantastic Location, Amazing Value!

  • 5 of 5

We booked our stay VERY last minute (like the morning we left!) but James and Charlene were fantastic to work with, the booking was very quick and easy and when we arrived everything was as we had been told. The location CANNOT be beaten and the price is extremely reasonable. The Apartment was spacious and very clean with all the mod cons included. Very safe location and a very quiet building. We really enjoyed our stay and we will definitely be back!

Car: not necessary

This is an outstanding flat with one of the best locations in London.Situated in the Heart Of the West End, several of London's main attractions are within a very short walk. Its location is literally opposite Trafalgar Sqaure! Our guests will wake to a view of Nelson's Column. The National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery are literally opposite the flat. The main London Theaters are within a few minutes walk. The flat is simply stunning with high ceilings thoughout. The flat is graced with floor to ceiling windows with French Doors opening onto a balcony with uninterrupted views across Trafalgar Square towards the National Gallery. The flat is suitable for families with children who really wish to experience London at its best. It's also suitable for couples that are celebrating something special. We regret that we're unable to accommodate large groups wishing to use the flat as a place to party. The place can sleep 5-6 but priority will be given to those travelling with children or people working in the Arts in Central London.

Our guests will find two very large bedrooms and an inviting reception /dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped to make eating in a total pleasure. The table is large enough to allow additional dinner guests(up to 8)We provide all the necessary essentials to produce an outstanding meal at your home from home. However, the flat is so close to the some of the best West End restaurants that some guests will be tempted to eat out most nights. We provide 2014 guides of AA Restauatnts UK Edition, Michelin 2013 London,Zagat,Time Out etc.

For those wishing to have the ultimate break, you'll find some of London's best day spas within a few streets away. This includes one of London's best Woman's Only Spa ,The Santuarary in nearby Covent Garden.

Tate Britain is within a 10 ten minute walk and the Royal Academy is a 10 minute walk away.

The flat is situated close to several transport routes. The closest is either Charing Cross or Leicester Sqaure, both being about a three minute walk. Our guests will also find themselves on several bus routes that will take them to the V&A ,Natural History Museum and Kensington Gardens. We advise our guest to purchase Oysters cards upon arriving in London.Should you wish us to do this for you, please just ask!

The flat has air conditioning for the the somewhat hotter summer months. There's central air for the winter months. The windows are double glazed allowing for quiet whilst indoors. Our guests will hardly hear the sound of London from inside.

There's a very fast WI FI connection and cable/satelite television.

The nearby shopping on Oxford St and Charing Cross Road will be a real treat for people who love to shop until they drop. From high end shops to the two very large budget Primarks, one will find something to take back home with them. After a morning strolling aroud the West End a special treat of a full English Afternnoon Tea will sure to become a special memory of your time in London. Yes, it can be somewhat expensive but it should be something that should be tried if you have the time and budget. The Ritz is by far the best in London. The Savoy, The Dorchester,Browns, and Clariddge's are all expensive but worth it.The National Portrait Gallery,The Wallace Collection and the Langham are more affordable and equally as good. Fortnum and Mason on nearby Picacadilly is also worth it. Their food hall is amazing/and even if you don't have time for the full Afternoon Tea you could buy some tea to take back with you. The tin cans ar simply stunning in design.A great gift for those back home. You will find that a few of the hotels near the British Museum also offer Afternoon Tea/but the ones listed above are far better. One exception is Bea's of Bloomsbury which is well worth a visit.

Escape the pressure of everyday life as you loosen up within one of London’s finest spas, Spa illuminata. It has been said to give out one of the best massages that you could possibly imagine. Apart from that, it does not give an all female vibe, as it has been a place for the secret male spa-goer. One of the best treatments that it offers is the Decleor Harmonie facial, with scalp, hand and head massage. Spa Illuminata is located in Mayfair. This is about 10 minutes from the flat..

Berkeley Spa would surely help you unwind from the stress of the city as it lets you unwind with certain therapies such as facials and calming massages. Clients swear the results such as soft and rejuvenated skin afterwards a treatment. The Berkeley Spa is located near Hyde Park.15 min from the flat.

If you're coming to London with some of your closest girlfriends then a vist to the women's only Sanctuary in nearby Covent Garden is a great day to spend a full day or early evening. This is 7 minutes from the flat.
