Villa Las Olas (Villa 4) is one of four beachfront villas in Bahia Pez Vela, a resort community of 40 privately owned villas on a secluded ebony beach. A private, jetted pool, Italian stone and wood patio, and 'next to the forest' location (end villa) distinguishes Villa Las Olas for its luxury and its privacy.
The villa is fully air-conditioned (mini-splits in each of the bedroom for individual control), and each room has screens and an overhead fan to enjoy the pleasant ocean breezes and sounds of this tropical paradise.
The master bedroom has King bed, a balcony with rocking chairs that overlooks the ocean, full closet, cable television and an attached private full bath. The second bedroom is also ocean front, and has two full beds, cable television, a dresser and full closet. It is a large and airy room. The third bedroom has two twin beds, a dresser, space for the infant 'Pack and Play' bed and changing table, cable television, and a garden view. All beds are made up with mattress pads, fresh linens, and light duvets or coverlets. Pillows are new, fluffy, and ample in number.
The main level has a very open lay-out with French doors to the pool and beach from both the living room and the dining room. The living room includes a comfortable sleeper sofa, two matching chairs, and cable television. The dining room seats six. The fully-equipped kitchen is spacious, and includes a breakfast 'bar' that seats four, refrigerator with ice maker, cooking range and oven, dishwasher and microwave. Directly off the kitchen is a utility room with a full washer and dryer, an iron and an ironing pad, and a safe for your valuables.
In addition to the amenities noted above, the villa is furnished with towels, beach towels, kitchen and dinner ware (including sharp, new knives!), a Weber grill, pool side furniture, hair dryers (2), games, puzzles, books, Costa Rica guides and maps, soap, dishwashing detergent, blender, toaster, coffee grinder and maker and rice maker.
The resort's onsite restaurant, Picante, provides bar, lunch and dinner service next to the three pool complex beachside. It's a romantic spot for dinner, fun place to meet other residents, and serves excellent North American and Costa Rican dishes at reasonable prices. Staff will also deliver food to your villa should you choose to dine in.
The resort concierge is available to answer all of your questions and to arrange sight-seeing and adventure tours that may interest you. Security is on-site 24/7. Maid service is available through the concierge.
While tranquil Bahia Pez Vela seems an ocean away from the busy world, it's a short drive to the village of Coco, a funky beach town that hosts fabulous grocery stores, very good restaurants, gift shops, and lively nightlife.
We're a Minnesota family of five that spent the ten spring breaks at Bahia Pez Vela -- and finally bought!
Bahia Pez Vela is the most beautiful, private, and conveniently located resort development on the Nicoya Peninsula, in our opinion. It is unique for its beautiful grounds, spacious villas, wonderful on-site restaurant, great snorkeling, and close proximity to the airport! Villa Las Olas is, in our opinion, the best villa in the development. The pool area is magnificent. The beach is 100 feet from your door. The villa is very private and visited frequently by howler monkeys and beautiful tropical birds!
We fell in love with our home for its privacy, fabulous pool, closeness to the clean and protected private beach, generously helpful staff -- and the sound of the waves, the gentle breezes, the warm surf, and the spectacular flowers!
Located on the grounds of the former fishing camp of Mark Tupper of Tupperware fame, this secluded and very secure resort houses 40 privately owned villas. The very private ebony beach provides world class snorkeling, calm waters for swimming, and fascinating tide pools that are full of sea life. Resort grounds are immaculate and feature a large grassy lawn between the villa and the beach, beautifully maintained blooming shrubs and flowers, and mature trees. The wildlife is abundant -- howler monkeys frequently munch the leaves from the trees in front of the villa, green parakeets chatter as they dart from one tree to another, blue green mot mots show off frequently, and the occasional blue jay, iguana and gecko can be spotted. If you can tear yourself away from the beach and your private pool, the nearby town of Coco is lively, fun and safe. Golf at Papagayo Golf in Sardinal, or go a bit further to Pinillas. Spend a half day deep sea fishing and bring yellow fin tuna, grouper and snapper home to the chef at the resort's on-site restaurant Picante for special treatment. Great diving is can be arranged in Coco, as can sail boat adventures. Venture inland to Volcan Arenal or Rincon de la Vieja and take in ziplines, volcanic mud baths and hot springs, white water rafting and horseback rides in the high country. Drive the 'Monkey Trail' to beaches to the south, including Ostional for early morning turtle hatching, Tamarindo for its surf, and Conchal for a sunset at the beach restaurant in Brasilito. All this within 25 minutes of the airport!
