An entrepreneur by nature, I have enjoyed the freedom and flexibility that a self directed path can provide. I have loved to travel and annually embark upon both a beach vacation and an exotic destination in a far away continent - you will find exotic mementos from my travels adorn El Milagro Del Barrio Anita and inspire the eclectic sampling of the world within. Growing up in Tucson and feeling a connection to this style of architecture/ property, I wanted to name my special Casa to honor my connection to the heritage of the house, hence the name El Milagro Del Barrio Anita - which means The Miracle of the Neighborhood - a miracle to own a home, a miracle this place has stood 133 years - a miracle of light and laughter within---. While home in Tucson, I love to landscape, You will see me working on my properties tending to the mesquite trees, Peruvian apple cactus a native willow or assisting guests at El Milagro and other homes. I have always enjoyed cooking - entertaining friends and family and hosting many social events, and look forward to hosting you during your stay in Tucson!

Charming home!

  • 5 of 5
My family rented this home while in Tucson for my master's graduation from University of Arizona. I cannot say more good things about this home! Incredibly charming and well decorated- amazing attention to detail. There is a HUGE backyard with multiple** tables for entertaining, lounging, drinking coffee, etc. The backyard has great landscaping and is very private. House was very clean, and the full kitchen was great- including coffee maker (AND coffee), pots/pans etc.

You will need to rent a car if you are looking to explore Tucson, but it is close to everything in a quiet neighborhood. Free street parking. Close to Gates Pass, I-10, "A" mountain, and a few blocks from downtown. I will never let my family stay anywhere OTHER than here.

Management was responsive and great to work with- and this was an affordable option, especially with 4 family members coming down to visit. I am unbelievably pleased with our experience here. Thank you so much!

Love Erica's place... Really nice place, great location - walkable to anywhere in downtown. And the patio is beautiful... and the Anita Market tortillas are just a block away... Train tracks are close but I didn't wake once. Highly recommend El Milagro...

welcome retreat

  • 5 of 5
When we first pulled into the neighborhood we were a bit concerned because it looked a little run down, but the house is adorable and we immediately felt right at home. My daughter has lived in apartments her entire 15 years, so it was nice for her to be able to spread out more than normal. We were also welcome with a nice note, wine, chocolates & dining suggestions. By the next day we were chatting with the very friendly neighbors and even felt comfortable in the neighborhood. The Anita Street Market was suggested & thoroughly enjoyed! (their tortillas are perfect). We were also close to everything. We will return, as well as recommend El Milagro to others. My only wish was that it was cooler so could have enjoyed the yard!!!

A true home away from home

  • 5 of 5
If you are looking for a charming place to call home when you are in Tucson, look no further. This home is adorable and has every amenity that you could possibly want. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is roomy and the back yard is a wonderful place to hang out. Many vacation homes have very few kitchen items which makes cooking a challenge. Not this place. I think it has more items that I have in my own home. And the owner includes things like coffee, tea, assorted salad dressings, etc. Even a big bowl of fresh fruit was waiting for us on arrival!

The location is great. Close to the freeway, close to downtown and easy access to the University. I will definitely stay here when I return to Tucson.

Home Sweet Adobe Home

From welcome chocolates on the pillow to fresh coffee in the cupboard, from a well stocked kitchen for entertaining to comfortable beds with soft sheets and lots of pillows, Erica has designed this vacation rental to be easy, relaxing and effortless. The gardens were ten times better than the pictures, with a bubbling fountain in the background, a shady nook to curl up with a book, plenty of perennials starting to bloom in late March, hummingbirds visiting and a righteous grill to entertain on the patio. Erica was gracious, friendly, and informative - accessible if needed and otherwise absent. We felt very cared for. It is true, the neighborhood is a little bit in transition, but we three women felt very safe during the day, and loved discovering Anita's Market down the street -- an authentic little hole in the wall with The Best homemade tortillas in all of Tucson. A Must for lunch! El Milagro is right on the bike path, close to downtown/university district, easy access to I-10, but a very quiet street otherwise. Charming decorations, very clean and very well-stocked with those goofy things you forgot to pack or hate to purchase for a short stay.

The one and only downside was the train (otherwise I'd definitely give it 5 stars). If you are a city person, it might be no big deal, but for rural folks more accustomed to wolf-howls and loon calls...it was a bit of a transition. Pack your earplugs for sleeping. We adjusted by mid-week, and would rent this place again, as everything else was hassle-free, delightful and relaxing. Overall, a great 1880's adobe house, with a sense of history, fairly priced and well-fashioned to call home for the week.

PS. If you're renting bikes, we had a great experience with Roadrunner Bicycles, unpretentious, reasonable rates, friendly, solid bikes.
