Experience Hawaii in its purest form in this beautifully built custom home, sitting on an exclusive beachfront property on the North Shore of Oahu. Built with the idea of taking in the gorgeous ocean and mountain views, and maximizing the flow of the trade winds, this home is a truly comfortable, relaxing, and ideal location for a family getaway. It boasts a large “great room” with open beam ceilings, ocean view picture windows, and two comfortable seating areas with flat screen TV and surround sound stereo. There is plenty of room here for the whole family to enjoy. Wireless internet, cable television, and a DVD library are provided.
The “Waialua Sandcastle” is a two bedroom, two bath home with a large loft on the second level. The Master bedroom with king bed is complete with sweeping ocean views, flat screen wall mounted TV, and ensuite bath, which boasts a jetted tub and gorgeous travertine shower. The second guest bedroom has a Queen bed, a lovely garden view, and cable television ensuite. The expansive second floor loft overlooks the great room and has one double and two twin beds, perfect for the kids.
The airy kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed to prepare meals at home. Buy fresh fish in Haleiwa town, pick up fresh vegetables and fruits at the popular Haleiwa farmers market, a five minute drive away, and eat fresh, island style! The ocean side lanai, right outside of the great room, houses a brand new large gas grill, along with outdoor dining for six. The mountain-view yard is a beautiful garden with Hawaiian Torch Ginger, Bird of Paradise, many types of Plumeria and Hibiscus, Papaya, and the sweet smell of Tahitian Gardenias. The beachfront yard is a grassy expanse with palms, a hammock, and direct beach access.
Watch the many sea turtles cruise by and join them while swimming in the crystal clear lagoon-like conditions just steps away. The North Shore of Oahu, as the surf capital of the world, is widely known for its large winter surf swells and popular surf spots. However, protected by a large coral reef, the sandy bottom beach in front of the home is safe for swimming all year round. The avid, experienced surfer will enjoy access to the un-crowded surf spots in front of the home.
The Waialua Sandcastle provides everything needed for an enjoyable vacation in an idyllic beachfront setting. Clean, well appointed, and fully stocked with linens, beach towels, beach chairs, and boogie boards, this home has it all. Fresh flowers and Haleiwa handmade soaps are provided upon arrival. Please call or e-mail us anytime with questions. We look forward to accommodating you!
We loved our time here! Kids say it was super fun! Loved the turtles, kayak, boogie boards, and being right on the ocean. The quiet of just the winds and waves was wonderful here on the North Shore. (Waikiki is too crowded for us, and we were always happy to return home here) Thank you for sharing your home! Aloha!
We have been to Hawaii a few times. This was the first time that we really felt we lived Hawaii! There's nothing I would change. It was great to be on this quiet beach with wonderful snorkeling and sea turtles. There was always a breeze floating through the house. It was convenient to town. We seemed to go in almost every day for something but preferred to return as soon as we could to enjoy everything the house had to offer. The property is great and has everything you need.We played a lot of Hawaiian music, took a lot of walks, swam a lot and then did it all again the next day. It's a great house with kids. We hope to return some day soon! Jill was wonderful to work with.
We stayed with a family of four for one week, and this was our first visit to Hawaii. The house is located in the quietest part of Oahu, with a nature preserve to the west. It is well maintained and there are plenty of towels and other amenities. We watched movies that had been filmed on the east side of Oahu at night on the large screen TV and the kitchen was very spaceous. The master bedroom looks out on the surf and the loft upstairs is more spaceous than we expected. It is right on a beautiful beach with sea turtles swimming within a few yards. The beach often has no one on it and we really enjoyed having our coffee sitting on an empty beach with the waves lapping at our feet. It is within 45 minutes driving to almost anywhere on the island, while at the same time allowing for a real authentic Hawaaian experience. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone else.
Look no further than this house. This has to be the best deal of all the houses we looked at, which were many. The location of this house was perfect. Right on the ocean in a quiet residential neighborhood on a very quiet street. 5 minutes from historic Haleiwa. 10-15 minutes from all of the popular beaches on the North Shore...Sunset, Sharks Cove, Pipeline, Turtle, Waimea just to name a few. We were a group of 6 (4 adults, 2 kids) and the house was plenty large for all of us. It was very clean and had every amenity we needed. The blender was going constantly making 3-4 batches of Pina Coladas each day. The landscaping around the house was perfect. Large yard for the kids to play in when they weren't in the ocean. The outdoor shower was a hit to wash off all of the sand from the beach. The kids loved the boogie boards to ride on. No need to go into busy "touristy" Waikiki or Honolulu. The North Shore has it all. Thank you Jill for the smooth process of renting this house.
We had a wonderful time at the beach house. Every kitchen and household item we needed was available. The kids LOVED the loft, and we LOVED the privacy of the master bedroom. We made good use of your beach supplies - my favorite thing was snorkeling while being pulled out by the sea kayak. the snorkeling was AMAZING, and we preferred the quiet home beach to the busy, touristy places. Jill went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. The house was super clean and pretty, and we all just loved it - parents, teenagers, all of us. I wholeheartedly recommend this house rental!!!
Our stay was fantastic !!! The house was spacious and accommodated our entire group of eight. It was very clean and homey. With the beach just outside in your back yard there is no need to drive anywhere to enjoy the water.
For those interested in cooking their own food, the kitchen accessories were plentiful and with the grill outside, there was no need to eat out. You have to drive to get groceries but it wasn't a big deal, the closest store was in Haleiwa and if you wanted to find additional items, Foodland was a little further in Pupukea. If you are not familiar with the North Shore expect a little bit a traffic at times.
The laundry facilities were great and we didn't bring any dirty laundry back home with us.
Yes, you'll feel at home, so much so it was very difficult for us to leave.
We'll be back.
Our family of 7 (3 adults and 4 kids) had a wonderful time at the sandcastle! There was plenty of room for everyone.
The views (ocean and mountain) were spectacular! The ocean breeze flowing through the house were wonderful. The beach was clean. The water was relatively calm and my youngest daughter (2 yrs) was able to splash around. The flowers were beautiful. The lizards were my 4 yr olds favorite. We spotted sea turtles from the beach; we weren't lucky enough to have one come ashore while we were watching the beach. The hammock was a favorite place. Sunrises and sunsets were awe inspiring.
It was nice to have a fully equipped kitchen and grill for the meals we didn't eat out. The laundry facilities were great. It was nice to be able to take clean clothes home and not have to worry about unpacking and doing laundry. The home was beautiful, clean and well-maintained. Jill provided excellent customer service. She answered all of our questions. We met the owner's grandson on our last day. He was very nice and took a family photo for us.
Haleiwa is close by for restaurants and shopping. We ate at The Breakers (ok food, friendly staff), Konos (yummy!!!) and Luibuenos (friendly staff and good food - the sea bass tacos were delicious!). We went to the Old Waialua Sugar Mill for shopping and shaved ice at IslandX (they make their syrups from fresh fruit).
It was very hard to leave when our time was up at the sandcastle. We would definitely recommend the sandcastle to family and friends. Hopefully, we will back!
Mahalo! It was a vacation of a lifetime.
