Come and stay in our quaint Turn of the Century brick home. We have kept all the old charm of this 2 bedroom 1 bath home. Beautiful original woodwork and auntiqued original wood floors. Soak in the claw foot bathtub or stroll 2 blocks to Downtown Monte Vista. In such a quite neiborhood you will enjoy the great backyard with a covered pattio and a BBQ. If you are in town for business or pleasure, DON'T stay at one of the areas 'crappy' hotels stay here instead and be COMFORTABLE. Get away from it all and enjoy the nature and outdoor activites the San Luis Valley has to offer. Near Wof Creek Ski area, Sand Dunes National Monument, Zapata Falls, Rio Grande Scenic RailRoad & the UFO Watchtower! Stay here and enjoy tons of privacy in your own space. About Mackenzie Monter

My name is Mackenzie and I have lived in Monte Vista my entire life! Monte Vista is mainly an agriculture area. I work with my husband and father owning a Potato Sprout Prevention company, that started in the late 70's by my grandfather. We all love to travel and see new things and sights! One of my favorite quotes is;

'Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-midedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime' - MARK TWAIN so in other words 'Get out and see all that you can!'

Why Mackenzie Monter chose South Fork

This home was my grandparents home since the early 1970's. It is a wonderful turn of the century home with tons of charm. We have kept all of the original charm my grandmother loved, all O.G. wood floor and trim, and there is a claw foot bathtub for soaking!! Beautiful, quite street in the heart of Downtown Monte Vista. San Luis Valley is a wonderful place to visit, quite and close to tons of outdoor activites (like Snow Skiing at Wolf Creek)!
