The relaxing getaway that we needed!
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in Casita II during our stay in July this past summer. We knew we wanted to stay in Ojai, as we're pretty familiar with the area and set about looking for the best location. We stumbled upon Casita Ojai and I made an inquiry on VRBO. Having never stayed in a vacation home rental, I was a bit nervous that things would be as they were portrayed on the internet. I spoke with Maida a few times and she instantly made me feel at ease and answered any and all of my questions. I'm happy to say that the property and interior of the casita is exactly as it looks in the pictures! Whew!!
We were there for almost a week so we really got a chance to enjoy our surroundings. I loved how the fountain running during the night and the smell of fresh lavender lulled me to sleep at night. We spent plenty of time at the pool (even meeting the couple in the other Casita that had stayed there before), had dinner at the table outside under the stars and a bottle of wine by the fire pit at night. We had lemon trees and rosemary bushes galore to add to our cooking and a few mornings we even had fresh eggs from the hen house left outside our front door. Maida's son even took me into the hen house to show me how to check the hens for eggs - alot of fun and gave my husband a good laugh!
In all, we had a great stay and can't wait to go back! Eventually we plan to move back to the Southern California area and hopefully make our home in Ojai. In the meantime, we'll be back in the area when we can, with the hopes of staying here again. It was comfortable, cozy and the hospitality we received from Maida and her family were more than we expected. They were there when you needed something, yet let us experience their property in privacy.
Seriously, can't wait to go back!
