2 bedrooms with queen beds, 2 bathrooms (clawfoot tub and shower), sleeps 4

This is the perfect place for a getaway! There are miles of sandy beach along the shore of Lake Superior right out the back door. You are close (4 blocks) to the aerial lift bridge, Canal Park, and downtown Duluth. The house was newly remodeled in the spring of 2012 to include fireplace and sauna. Main level and upstairs have amazing views of Lake Superior (you can see the lake while relaxing in the claw-foot tub). Downstairs includes washer/dryer, Foosball, and air-hockey table.
About Heather Pitschka

Steve and I (Heather) have lived in Duluth for the past 17 and 12 years respectively. We call it home now and have a tough time seeing ourselves living elsewhere. Lake Superior has a draw and we've been mesmerized since moving here. We both love the water and spend a significant amount of our free time surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. Both of us have caught a muskie out of our canoe a stone's throw away from our house on Minnesota Point. We've also been able to surf every month of the year! Although I'd recommend a wet suit Fall/Winter/Spring. We love this area and always look forward to coming home when we've gone on vacation.

What makes this house unique

You'll have direct access to the largest freshwater lake in the WORLD (Lake Baikal in Russia is largest by volume, Lake Superior is largest by surface area)!

You are 5 blocks away for the farthest inland port in the world.

You are 5 blocks away from one of the largest lift bridges in the United States. There you can view Ocean and Great Lake ships from less than 100 feet as they enter and leave the port.

Minnesota Point is surrounded by water and the Aerial Lift Bridge is the only point of access by land. You are essentially on a island!

Wonderful House, Beautiful Location

A lovely and clean home, with a beautiful kitchen and comfy couches. It was a bit chilly when I visited, so I didn't take advantage of the beach access or the kayaks, but it was very close to the water. Sunrise from the claw foot tub is amazing, and it's about a 10 minute walk to Canal Park if you walk as slow as I do. Heather was incredibly nice and helpful beyond anything I would have expected, and I highly recommend renting.

Our family enjoyed our stay at this lovely beach home. The home was clean, updated & well-furnished. The location could not be beat - as it was just steps from the beach. It's also just a short walk to the aerial bridge and canal park area. The home-owners were very friendly, available & helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

A great end of summer experience!

Our family stayed here for an end of summer vacation.. Everything was clean and newly remodeled.. The backyard leads right out to the beach. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this place!

Great place to stay!

We have stayed in several different rental places on Park Point and this was the cleanest and newest remodel that we have stayed at! Heather and Steve go out of their way to make sure you have what you need and they are super friendly, too. It's a very short walk to the beach, which is really nice as some of the homes have quite a trek--especially when you are carrying kayaks! There is a short wall that you have climb over on your way to the beach, which our 5'1" daughter struggled a bit to get over, but for an average person, it's not a problem. If you have children, that wall might be a good thing(!) and there is also a gate so that you can enclose the backyard entirely, but the house is probably best for adults and older kids. I would definitely rent from Heather and Steve again.
