We had an extremely relaxing and wonderful vacation at Bill and Vivian's cottage. It is an amazing place to vacation. It truly is as it appears in the photos. It is warm and inviting on the inside and relaxing and refreshing on the outside. Our 15 month old daughter loved to go talk to and feed the goats every morning (and yes they would talk back to her). I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to get away, relax and enjoy the mountains. Thank you Bill and Vivian for such a wonderful place to vacation!
We had a relaxing stay at Bill and Vivian's cottage. The home was clean and comfortable as could be (and nicely decorated, too!). We especially enjoyed our breakfasts in the screened porch in the back, looking out to the mountains, and delighting in the goats and cows grazing nearby, and sitting on the front porch at night with mountains in the distance there, too. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that you can hear the cars and trucks coming up nearby Alexander road. I guess the sound echoes in the valley. Still, it was a peaceful and comfortable retreat for us as we explored Asheville and the surrounding areas.
My husband and I enjoyed our vacation at the adorable cottage surrounded by farms and mountains. The cottage was in excellent condition, and it was easily accessible to lots of nearby attractions and towns. We saw Asheville, Black Mountain, Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, Hendersonville and Weaverville. The shopping in the mountain towns was lots of fun. We enjoyed eating at The Veranda, Well-Bred Bakery, and Tupelo Honey Café, and sitting on the cottage’s back porch drinking our coffee while enjoying the views. We would recommend this cottage to anyone visiting the Asheville area.
Our location for quiet and relaxation
Yet close to so many great sights too!
The cottage was just as described and clean and welcoming .
Owners always ready to assist !
A charming cottage that is out of the way but not out of touch. Close enough to the art and culture that is Asheville but with a distinctly rural country farm flavor. The back porch is set up as a cute dining nook which has an unobstructed view of the mountains and sunrise. You will want to have all of your meals on that porch. We did! We were greeted on our arrival by the most charming host and hostess who from the first day made us feel that we are now forever friends and are welcome, and even expected back as soon as we can get away. The inside of the cottage is as warm and welcome as our hosts and would be a perfect place to sequester yourself with a good book if it weren't for the splendor of the outdoors and the bounty of attractions located in and around the Asheville area.
My family and I just returned from a very enjoyable week at this lovely home. The cottage and grounds are so inviting- attractive, comfortable and immaculate. You are surrounded by beautiful mountain views, front and back, with animals grazing on the hillsides. We found it hard to pull ourselves away to tour the sights which brought us to the area. After touring each day, it was the perfect place to come back, relax and just take in the wonderful surroundings.
The owners, Bill and Vivian, are friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this rental and hope to return.
There are so many local attractions in the Smoky Mountains. The French Broad River is 1.5 miles from property, great fishing & kayaking. Numerous Designated mountain trout streams. Alexander is bordered by Asheville, and is a great location, with events, River Arts District, Biltmore House, Numerous Craft Breweries. There are so many activities in the local area that are just too numerous to list here.
