Updated on the beach studio with teal and beige decor. We like to think of it as our ''Island Sandcastle'' right on the beach. We can relax on the balcony while watching the activities on the beach or stroll across the dune crossover and walk along the waters edge and enjoy the roar of the waves breaking just offshore. You will find it doesn't take long to relax, feel the sand between your toes, and enjoy being an Islander. The unit is cozy with a murphy bed that folds up out of the way during the day with a comfy twin day bed to sit on and read a good book or curl up and take a short nap. There is air conditioning for those really hot summer days or open the floor to ceiling sliding glass door to the patio and enjoy the gulf breeze and salt air. And, of course there is nothing like taking a dip in the heated, salt water pool downstairs. You truly have it all.

Enjoy all the fun at the beach and then take a ride along the seawall and try a variety of seafood restaurants each with its own special tempting fare. Or you can visit the numerous old Victorian mansions along Broadway that are open to the public year round and experience a little bit of what Galveston was like at the turn of the 20th century. Next, you can stroll along the Strand Boulevard downtown and shop to you drop. Zip into the Tremont Hotel and enjoy a drink at the bar while listening to delightful piano music. Then you can head back to the condo and relax some more. What could be more perfect! You'll want to return again and again. Then share this ''awesome discovery'' with your friends and relatives so that they too can relax and enjoy the gulf breeze even while indoors since they are right on the beach.

About Paul Walker

I am a Bank Vice President certified in Treasury Management. I live in Houston in a 3-story townhouse in the Museum District and I look forward to my weekend escapes to Galveston. As soon as I cross the Galveston causeway I can feel the work day stresses release and the relaxed Island lifestyle takes over.

Why Paul Walker chose Galveston

We first purchased a condo at Islander East in 2000. After two years of thoroughly enjoying the beach lifestyle, we decided to invest again in purchasing a unit to use as a vacation rental. Now others can enjoy the Galveston hospitality and carefree lifestyle.

Islander East condo

Our stay at this small but lovely condo was perfect. The view of the gulf was wonderful. The condo had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. Just a short walk to the beach and close location to major attractions. The new pleasure pier my daughter trully enjoyed.
Thanks Paul for a wonderful last minute get away.

Islander East condo getaway

My husband myself and our daughter stayed in this condo 8/23-8-25 the location was great condo had a wonderful view of the gulf, clean and the space was enough for 3 people. Facility was nice and the people as well. Hope to come back for spring break.

The room was great! Perfect for the three of us... It looked just like the pictures online! We loved the private beach access, and we had a great time. Paul was very accommodating. We will be staying here again! I'd like to come with my boyfriend sometime too.

Visiting from Kingsville, Texas for our honeymoon. Everything was great the the land lord was very nice!. This was the perfect relaxing week after our marriage.

Things we did:

My fiance and I bring our son to Galveston for his birthday every year. This year, his 6th birthday has been our best visit yet! I have been coming to Galveston for nearly 30 years but have never explored the East Beach area. Our stay has us considering a move down here because we see that you can get away from the Seawall crowd and still enjoy the beauty of the beach and ocean in a serene, peaceful environment. Both mornings when I got up to run at sunrise, I was alone with my thoughts and prayers, the waves, and the seagulls! No traffic noise, no bikini-clad tourists, no loud music. Just creation and the occasional group of houses.

The room as very nice and clean and the staff and other tenants were friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again!

Thank you Mr. Walker for making our great vacation possible!

1. Ran on beach and seawall
2. Dinner at Gaido's (Best restaurant on the planet!)
3. Evening walks on the beach
4. Skim board, surf, kayak, boogie board
5. Lunch at Fisherman's Wharf
6. Dolphin tour (So cool!)

8. Shopping on the Strand and Seawall
9. Dinner at Rainforest Cafe
10.Frozen custard from a place on the Seawall - Awesome!
