Our beautiful 1800 square foot home is located on the 16th tee box of the Lakes Golf Course, with cross-country ski paths just outside the back door. White-tail deer and red fox cavort within view of the dining room windows. The Michaywe Clubhouse, complete with pool, spa and bar/restaurant, is a short walk through the hardwoods in the summer, or a quick ride on snowmobile-friendly roads.
The first floor master bedroom has an in-suite bathroom and comes equipped with a king bed. The two 2nd floor bedrooms share a bath and have a queen and twin in each room. The basement family room has a full-size convertible couch and 2 additional twin beds and can use the 2nd first floor full bath. We can easily accommodate 8 - 10, and the closet space is more than enough for your stay.
There are 4 TVs and a DVD/VCR player, along with a video library for your use. Add to that the wood-burning fireplace, and it is even a great place for rainy days. The 1000 square foot deck with 3 table sets stretches across the entire length of the house and seats everyone comfortably as you experience the golf course view.
The home is a short distance from I-75 and a few miles from downtown Gaylord. It is located in the Golf Mecca of the Midwest, rated as one of the top 5 golf destinations in America. Mackinaw Island and Odawa Casinos are within an hour's drive, and Boyne Mountain and the Highlands are within a half hour. Hundreds of miles of ORV trails can be reached from the driveway. Many inland lakes have public boat launches and a state park is located at Otsego Lake, just 4 miles down the road.

Jim and I both grew up in Michigan and love the outdoors. Jim is an avid golfer and enjoys the wide variety of choices available in Gaylord. I love to garden, and can easily spend the day just tromping through the woods or reading a good book on the back deck.
Jim purchased this house in 1994
Why Jim chose Gaylord
As a family, we were looking for a lake house to spend our summers, and a place close to skiing in the winter. We wanted to be within 2 hours of our Essexville home. A friend suggested we rent a house in Michaywe while we spent the weekend exploring the Gaylord area. Needless to say, we quickly realized golf front living (not lake living) was for us and put an offer on this house that very weekend. Since then, we bought the lots on either side of us to preserve our privacy and give us that 'Up North' outdoors feel.
What makes this house unique
Gaylord is an all sports area. There are 30 - 40 golf courses within a half hour, and four within 5 minutes. There are a multitude of lakes and good shopping nearby. The drive is easy up I-75 and the seasons offer something for everyone. Skiing, cross-country, and snowmobiling in the winter; morel hunting and golf in the spring; golfing, fishing, and boating in the summer; spectacular colors and golf in the fall. We know you will enjoy our home.
