CHARMING MEDIEVAL HOUSE WITH PRIVATE POOL - EXCEPTIONAL VIEWS ON THE LUBERON

Gordes House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms (Sleeps 6)

“Le Mas des Agapanthes”, built in the XIX century in local typical stones and renovated in 2007, is a lovely house situated 15 minutes walk from the historic perched village of GORDES, village classified as 'One of the Most Beautiful Villages in France'. There is an incredible panoramic view over the Luberon valley with a 180 degree opening on the flatland.

The garden is beautifully kept, with lawn and pool area, flower beds and olive trees. The garden is about 700 square meters (7500 sq ft). The swimming pool is 10 by 5 meters (ft) with a saltwater system. The interior of our family house is furnished with a mix of antiques and contemporary furniture.

Ground floor: a small but fully equipped kitchen opening onto a lovely dining room that can easily accommodate 8 people; a summer living room with a big stone wood-burning fireplace and sliding patio doors giving onto the terrace; the master bedroom with a queen-size bed (160 x 200cm) and en-suite bathroom with shower and WC.

First floor: from the kitchen you access the first floor via an 18th century-old stone staircase taking you to the mezzanine /TV room. There is also one large bedroom with 2 twin beds (90 x 200 cm), a smaller bedroom with 2 twin beds (90 x 200cm, which can be converted into one large double bed), a bathroom with tub and sink and a separate WC. The back of the house is connected to a beautiful neighboring house.

The house comfortably sleeps six people. Practical details: appliances include a glass-ceramic stove top; built-in oven; dishwasher; refrigerator with freezer compartment; microwave oven; washing machine and dryer; two hot water tanks; hair dryer; a radio and CD player; TV with DVD player; ADSL, WiFi and telephone via internet. Bed linens and towels, including pool towels, are provided.

There are 6 sun beds with cushions as well as one teak garden table with six teak chairs, sunshade and a charcoal barbecue. Finally a renter’s manual provides information you might need regarding the house and there is a guestbook in which previous tenants have left comments about their stay. Please note that for safety reasons, we recommend the rental of our house to families with children over 8 years old.

Lovely stay!

  • 5 of 5
We are a family of four, two teens, and we had a wonderful stay in Gordes for a week this past august. From the start of our booking right through to departure everything was handled very well. We were warmly greeted and shown around the property and then left to enjoy it on our own.
The view is fantastic and we enjoyed it every morning with coffee and in the evening with wine, and also throughout the day while swimming in the pool.We set up the badminton net and could also play bocce on the small grass area out front.
The house was well organized and had little extras that make it feel like home, books, candles, music etc.The beds were comfortable and the boys each had their own room with a bathroom upstairs.
We walked into town a few times for dinner, shopping, and the best market was in Gordes. It was nice to be able to walk into town and not worry about parking as in august it is very busy.We spent over three weeks in France and my husband and I both agree this was our favorite spot to stay.We hope to return one day soon .We would recommend this lovely house and beautiful spot to our friends and family.

A Marvelous Vacation

  • 5 of 5
What a pleasure to stay in this comfortable, stylish, well equipped, and beautiful property. From first contact with the owner, to the warm greeting of Virginie the property manager, to our last sad farewell as we closed the gate behind us on our last day in Gordes, everything went smoothly. The pictures simply do not do the property justice. Sited on the side of a hill, the view across the valley and the sunrises over the distant mountain were simply breathtaking. This area of France is charming with historic hill towns, great restaurants and fine vineyards all in easy driving distance. Ideal for a relaxing holiday or a more energetic vacation of touring and exploration.

A beautiful stay in a beautiful house

  • 5 of 5
We spent 2 weeks in this gorgeous villa. From start to finish our stay was relaxing and peaceful.
We were met by Virginie and she was amazing, she showed us around the property and kept in touch with us during our stay if we needed anything.
The house is well equipt with everything you need and it really does feel like a home from home. The view is incredible and you cannot get bored of it, pool is refreshing and a truely wondeful place to stay.
The area is lovely with lots of lovely places to eat and drink, lots of sights to see.
Thank you for a lovely stay and we hope to come back soon.

Wonderful stay in Gordes!

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful nine days in Gordes in late May/early June. The home is lovely and very comfortable. There were five people in our group - two couples and one teenager and there was ample space for everyone. The decor is beautiful and fits the home. The outdoor space is delightful - it was a little chilly when we were there, so we didn't get to enjoy the pool (which is unheated) as much as we'd hoped. But we spent many days just lounging about outside. The view of the Luberon is breathtaking. The kitchen is very well-equipped. It's tiny (by American standards) but well-organized and has everything you would need. The appliances are great. Evelyne and Virginie were both wonderful. We wanted to buy firewood because it was unseasonably cool our first few days and Virginie tracked down where we could buy some! Gordes is lovely but it's about a 20 minute brisk walk away up a winding narrow road full of tour buses. The stairs up to the second floor are a little treacherous - they're uneven and were a little challenging for older people to walk up. But there's a very sturdy metal rail that's mortared into the wall. All in all, we highly recommend it!

Great house with georgeous view

  • 5 of 5
Two couple stayed in May 2013. The house was just as depicted in the the pictures but the view was more spectacular! The house was well appointed and had everything we needed (including a new clothes dryer). We had a fire one night and used the BBQ another. Gordes was about a 15 minute walk and had plenty of restaurants although we mostly cooked dinner at the house. During the day we did day trips to St. Remy, Arles, Avignon, St. Tropez and Cannes. I would recommend this house to anyone but those with children under the age of 5 since the stairs in the house are steep and stone.

Evelyne was great through the whole rental process and Virginie was very welcoming showing us the house and answering all of our questions. Hopefully we will be back soon!

We spent a lovely week here - what a great place to relax or base yourself for exploring the lovely villages nearby (Gordes of course but we fell in love with Goult too which is very close)
