Sun-Lit, “Tree-Tops” Condo in Convenient Location Near Beach
Welcome to our lovely and updated, ideally situated 2- bedroom, 2-bath sunny and bright condo, purchased and updated in May 2011. The combination of tasteful décor, ample amenities, and location within a 3-minute walk of the beach, conference center, and shops and restaurants are hard to beat (see map).
This top-level, corner unit of our beautifully landscaped, four-story building has many advantages. It is bright and sunlit at all hours of the day because of its top-floor location and extra windows. The private balcony affords views of century-old oaks harboring a variety of wildlife during the day (we saw a pileated woodpecker on our first tour of the building) and a panoramic vista of stars along with refreshing breezes at night.
Our quiet condo has plenty of seating in the airy living room, an attractive and fully equipped kitchen, a dining area for six to sit comfortably and a sideboard for entertaining, a king-sized bed in the newly decorated master bedroom, two double beds in the guest room (with two windows on separate walls in each bedroom), and two newly updated bathrooms. The utility room offers a full-sized washer and dryer.
To stay connected while on vacation, high speed wireless internet, cable for the three flat-screened TVs, and phones to make free local and long distance calls are provided.
We furnish a wealth of information on things to do and places to see in this lovely corner of the world – the many unique parks and nature trails; historic sites; options for walking and hiking, bird watching, swimming, golfing, biking, kayaking, fishing, and tennis; restaurant, shopping, and fish market recommendations; and special events.
Make our home your home. You won’t find a quieter, more tasteful, comfortable, conveniently located, and reasonably priced spot from which to enjoy the unique beauty and attractions of this top-notch resort and the surrounding region.

About The Owner
By professions, we are a learning disabilities teacher in the lower grades and a lawyer/financial advisor/public official. We live near Lake Michigan in the northern Chicago suburbs and love being close to the water here, as we do at home. We are outdoor enthusiasts with two sons with whom we’ve enjoyed a variety of activities over the years. Why The Owner chose Amelia Island
Our first two visits to the Plantation about twenty years ago were for conferences, and we returned on vacation three times later before investing as owners here in 2011. We love the combination of the southeastern Atlantic low country and Florida, but with the benefit of changing seasons and absence of traffic and tourists of many other parts of Florida. For those from other parts of the country, access through the Jacksonville airport (only 35 minutes away) compares favorably with a place like Hilton Head (and its somewhat warmer than the SC resorts in the winter and early spring).

What makes this condo unique
Our building is no more than a 3-minute walk across the street to the beach and equally close to the conference center and shops and restaurants on the Plantation. Our building is the closest of the three buildings of its kind to the conference center and restaurants and shops, considerably closer than the other two. And yet it is TOTALLY quiet and surrounded by trees and tasteful landscaping that you won't find in the most exclusive resorts (with bird life to go with it - e.g. pileated woodpeckers frequently seen from our parking lot in front of the building).
Our top floor, corner unit with extra sunlight also has special appeal. Note that only one-third of the units in the three buildings like ours (the end units) have two windows in the living room, the master bedroom, and the second bedroom, which, on our top floor above the tree canopy especially, also provide extra light. The other units only have one window in each of these rooms. For these reasons, plus the especially nice furnishings and tasteful decorating (which is somewhat evident from the pictures which do not do it full justice), our unit may not be the least expensive of its kind, but it is still a bargain, and offers a HUGE savings over staying at the hotel or renting a similar (and likely inferior - darker; not as nicely decorated) unit of the same kind through Omni. There is access to two pools in back of our, and adjacent, buildings as well as to one across the street, just above the beach and ocean.
