Sun-Lit, “Tree-Tops” Condo in Convenient Location Near Beach

Welcome to our lovely and updated, ideally situated 2- bedroom, 2-bath sunny and bright condo, purchased and updated in May 2011. The combination of tasteful décor, ample amenities, and location within a 3-minute walk of the beach, conference center, and shops and restaurants are hard to beat (see map).

This top-level, corner unit of our beautifully landscaped, four-story building has many advantages. It is bright and sunlit at all hours of the day. The private balcony affords views of century-old oaks harboring a variety of wildlife during the day (we saw a pileated woodpecker on our first tour of the building) and a panoramic vista of stars along with refreshing breezes at night.

Our quiet condo has plenty of seating in the airy living room, an attractive and fully equipped kitchen, a dining area for six to sit comfortably and a sideboard for entertaining, a king-sized bed in the newly decorated master bedroom, two double beds in the guest room (with two windows on separate walls in each bedroom), and two newly updated bathrooms. The utility room offers a full-sized washer and dryer.

To stay connected while on vacation, high speed wireless internet, cable for the three flat-screened TVs, and phones to make free local and long distance calls are provided.

We furnish a wealth of information on things to do and places to see in this lovely corner of the world – the many unique parks and nature trails; historic sites; options for walking and hiking, bird watching, swimming, golfing, biking, kayaking, fishing, and tennis; restaurant, shopping, and fish market recommendations; and special events.

Make our home your home. You won’t find a quieter, more tasteful, comfortable, conveniently located, and reasonably priced spot from which to enjoy the many amenities and attractions of this top-notch Omni resort and the surrounding region.

About The Owner

By professions, we are a learning disabilities teacher in the lower grades and a lawyer/financial advisor/public official. We live near Lake Michigan in the northern Chicago suburbs and love being close to the water here, as we do at home. We are outdoor enthusiasts with two sons with whom we’ve enjoyed a variety of activities over the years. Here, we love the miles of beach and the variety of nearby parks and trails on and near the water. We can provide details. Sue & David Barkhausen

Why The Owner chose Accra

Our first two visits to the Plantation about twenty years ago were for conferences, and we returned on vacation three times later before investing as owners here. We love the combination of the southeastern Atlantic low country and Florida, but with the benefit of changing seasons and absence of traffic and tourists of many other parts of Florida.

What makes this condo unique

Our building is no more than a 3-minute walk across the street to the beach and equally close to the conference center and shops and restaurants on the Plantation. And yet it is totally quiet and surrounded by trees and tasteful landscaping. Our top floor, corner unit with extra sunlight also has special appeal.

Absolutely Perfect Condo AND location too!!!

We have just returned from our first FABULOUS visit to Amelia Island Florida, where 60 members of our family gathered for our nephew's wedding. Our family of 5 stayed very comfortably in this condo and cannot say enough WONDERFUL things about this unit! It is everything that is described above and more. The very clean condo is incredibly bright, open, and "light-filled." It is beautifully decorated and appointed with every amenity possible - including a fully- equipped kitchen, full-size washer and dryer, plus it also has an iron with ironing board, and 2 beach chairs.
We were there for a week and loved the convenience to the beach, pool, The Omni Resort and Conference Center (which were all literally an easy, three minute walk away), along with numerous restaurants, and The Amelia Island Shops... just moments from this condo by foot as well. With elevator and stair access to this incredible fourth floor, top unit, you can have a premo location on The Amelia Island Plantation while enjoying very quiet, private, tranquil surroundings nestled among beautiful, older trees and lush vegetation. The owners of this property and the rental company were a pleasure to work with... plus offered a detailed packet of extra information about sights, restaurants, activities, etc. that are available in the surrounding areas. Having now seen where other family members stayed throughout The Plantation, we would definitely stay again in this condo if ever we are fortunate enough to return for a visit. This Beach Wood property has it all - plus location too!!! Thank you Sue and David B. for sharing your beautiful home with us! :-)

Perfect beach getaway!

Our family really enjoyed our weekend at the Plantation! This condo was very comfortable and spacious for our family of 4 and the owner was great to work with even providing an extensive list of things to do and see in the area. The walk to the beach is very simple, even with our two small children - the road you have to walk across was low traffic while we were there. There is a nice boardwalk with a shower over to the beach which is a beautiful, un-crowded piece of paradise! The Plantation also has a lot to offer - plenty of tree covered bike paths and easy acess to shops and restuarants from the condo. We even road our bikes to them a few times. You really can't go wrong staying here - we will be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed the Tree Tops condo, especially its location so close to the beach. The beach walk took 3 minutes, a pleasant and easy walk that included a shower for washing up after being at the beach. The condo was updated and comfortable, clean and bright. We had a great week! Thank you.
