My family (two adults and three teen/tweens) spent four nights in this unit in Feb 2014. The location is excellent - easy walk to silver lake lodge/lifts. Unit is well equipped and reasonably spacious. Top floor, corner location is nice and quiet. Decor is a little rustic but everything is in good shape. Second bedroom is quite large and held the three kids comfortably (queen bed and large bunk beds). Nice to have 3 full baths and plenty of TVs. Loft is a good place for kids to hangout - ceilings are low so watch your heads. I am not sure I would want to stay up there as an adult so keep that in mind depending on your group composition/siz. Hot tub on deck is very convenient. Hot tub and pool in complex are not great (but not really any reason to use them). Small gym in parking garage level w couple treadmills and a small weight lifting machine if skiing does not give you enough of a workout. Overall we had a great trip and hope to stay here again.
We loved this condo! Very clean, updated, comfortable, and spacious. It is very close to the slopes - a 2 minute walk to Silver Lake Lodge where they have free overnight ski storage. Owner was very easy to work with. We did not rent a car but parking area was very nice. My kids loved the private hot tub on the deck.
We just had the BEST vacation in Deer Valley staying in Black Bear Lodge. The top floor location was perfect and had an amazing view of the mountain. The condo was spacious, clean and equipped gourmet kitchen appliances. Our family of 5 (3 young children) were so comfortable and cannot wait to return to Utah. We would definitely recommend this location to anyone who wants to stay in Silver Lake and ski Deer Valley. It was PERFECT!
We stayed at the condo during Sundance Film Festival. The location of the condo was walking distance to Deer Valley mid-mountain lifts and Stein Eriksen lodge. We were impressed by the recent renovations to the condo. The owner checked in on us upon our arrival to make sure everything was fine. We spent most of our post-Sundance or post-skiing in the hot tub or in front of the fire place!
Great ski condo! Very nicely furnished, clean, and had plenty of room. It was just a short walk to the ski valet at the Silver Lake base. No need to get in the car to get to the slopes!! The owner was great to work with and answered any questions we had promptly by email. The loft was only big enough for two kids/teenagers, but other than that sleeping arrangements were perfect. We would definitely recommend this condo and hope to stay there again ourselves!!
My family of 4 (including 2 teens) stayed here during Spring Break. Great location -- Black Bear Lodge is just across the street from the Silver Lake Lodge, so very convenient for skiing. Also, very short walk to stores / restaurants in the Silver Lake Village. We really liked staying at the Silver Lake area, it seemed much less crowded than the Snow Park Lodge below.
The unit was in excellent condition, clean, and comfortable. The unit's location (top floor, end of the building), made it nice and quiet. Unit easily could sleep 8, and was plenty of room for our smaller family. My kids loved the loft. Hot tub was in nice condition, and had a great view of the mountains.
The Black Bear Lodge building has a convenient lobby, staffed by folks from another management company. They were helpful in recommending restaurants, shops, etc. Also, provided free coffee, tea, and cookies. Very nice touch.
The owner (Greg) was comfortable to work with, and made the whole transaction very easy. He was responsive to our questions, and checked in with us during the stay. We would definitely stay here again.
