Hi, my name is George and I am a principal software engineer.
I have a master degree in computer science and I consider myself a very easy going guy. I like to meet people and make new friends.
When I am going in vacation I rent studio/apartment since are cheaper and more comfortable than one room in a hotel. I learned to be a very nice host and to help people renting my apartment.
George purchased this apartment in 1992
Being 50 yards from the beach, 20 minutes from Boston and 10 minutes from the well known Salem city give to the renters to have everything in the same package. The house is gorgeous, very clean and maintained, quiet and family oriented.
The house and neighborhood makes all the difference. It is very save going around and on the beach at any hour in the day.
The property was exactly as described - clean and well appointed. Had a great visit. George was a fantastic host and very responsive to requests. Very helpful. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable visit. The place was perfect spot! Easy to get to downtown Boston, and the house is in a beautiful spot. Would stay again and recommend others.
We must say that everything was as listed and more. Our host George was very helpful on our arrival and had a Parking Permit for our rental car ready. The Apt. was in a beautiful location and even from windows the Atlantic could be seen overlooking Swampscott Harbor, Egg Rock and Lynn beach. Red rock Park just down the street was perfect for relaxing and watching the ocean. We feel that George became a friend during our many times sitting together talking and enjoying a beer together. We would definetly recommend this location to anyone looking to stay in the area of Boston, Salem etc. We left 5 Sept. with both a smile and sad feelings of leaving our new friends.
The apartment was absolutely wonderful! It is bright and cleaned to perfection. It has lots of living space and closet space, a thoroughly outfitted kitchen, a newer flat-screen TV, plenty of towels and blankets, and plenty of new windows to open and let in the sea breeze. Lynn is a nice city (I was worried after reading of its industrial past). This neighborhood is full of very pretty houses and is a wonderful spot for roaming. The walkway by the ocean is pretty--another fine spot for a walk or a run. George was pleasant and helpful at all times. A few tips: (this one is George's) Dine at Anthony's Hawthorne Restaurant on the north end of the beach--great food at reasonable prices, and a view to die for; tip from the locals--park your car at the Wonderland T station ($5 a day) and ride the T into town. We always buy transit passes--$18 for 7 days, and then we are free to roam about the city :-). George, thanks again. We will be back!
The description of the house is extremely accurate! Two couples stayed here for three nights and it was exactly what we were looking for. We weren't so close to the city that there was a lot of hustle and bustle. We would drive to explore Boston (only a 15 minute drive away) and then come home to this house to relax. We even had our own garage to park in. If you don't have a car, there is access to a T (Boston's version of the subway) that isn't too far away.
There is a beach only steps away that is perfect for a morning jog. Everything inside the apartment worked and was clean. I really liked having a kitchen and being able to cook breakfast at home since I knew we would be eating out in the city.
George was very pleasant to rent from and is easy to get in to contact with if you need anything. I even left something behind at the apartment and he was kind enough to mail it home to me with a tracking number and everything! I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who's interested in visiting Boston and/or the surrounding area and doesn't want to pay an arm and leg for a hotel and/or parking.
If you do end up in Boston, make sure you go to Neptune Oyster and try their cold lobster roll, it's yummy. Also, get a chocolate cannoli from Mike's Pastry. If you're feeling adventurous, go to The Dumpling Cafe to get pork and crab soup dumplings.
