CHARMING FLAT CENTRALLY LOCATED, RECENTLY REFURBISHED & WELL-EQUIPPED

Apartment:
We stayed here for three nights in a late August weekend. The apartment is situated on the second floor in an old-style, charming Parisian building. Both the kitchen and bathroom have been renovated very recently (and to a very high standard - everything is new and they use Bosch stove). The rest of the flat retains the charming original wooden floor. The bedroom is spacious, blessed with two floor-to-ceiling typical French windows, one leads to a good size balcony.The beams of light came into the bedroom very nicely in the afternoon.

Neighbourhood:
The neighbourhood is a pretty well off area. It is only 5 min walk from Villiers metro. Lovely Park Monceau is nearby (there aren't many big parks in Paris). But what I love most is the market situated only 2 streets away. It is very typically French, lovely little honey shop, five patisseries (one won the best baguette in Paris), a shop selling Provencal products e.g. 100+ kinds of olive oil and tapenade, stalls selling fresh fruits and vegetables, rotisseries (we took home a roasted chicken one day and it was so much better than those sold in expensive supermarkets in London), another shop selling little delicate terrines/verrines/seafood for picnic. It is wonderful to simply stroll down the market, listening to vendors' rhythmic shouts, looking at people sitting at cafes etc. The market has live music on Sunday and seems to be opened every day of the week. Later we found out that there aren't too many markets in Paris so we were extremely lucky.

Eurostar:
One thing we forgot to mention - a taxi ride to Gare du Nord (Eurostar) is only 9 Euros in rush hour ... Even with the metro it was very convenient to get to the apartment.

Overall a very enjoyable stay, generally a very picky traveller but cannot fault this flat, nor the neighbourhood. We did not want to come back to London! Will definitely stay in this apartment when we visit Paris again.
