Explore lovely Santa Fe from the comfort and charm of Casa Sombra, located just minutes from the Plaza and Canyon Road in the Historic Eastside. This classic adobe-style home has an open plan Living and Dining Room which adjoins to the fully stocked Kitchen and Breakfast Bar. A Kiva fireplace adds Southwestern atmosphere. French Doors lead to a pretty trellised Patio where you may enjoy your morning coffee or evening glass of wine.

A Queen Bedroom has its own En suite Bath, with Double Sinks, a Walk In Shower and Soaking Tub. A Second Bedroom Features Two Twin Beds which may be pushed together to create a King (bed bridge included), and also has its own Bath with a generous walk in Shower. Modern touches include WiFi throughout the home, Air Conditioning, a Gas Grill, a Front Loading Washer and Dryer, and a Keurig Coffee Maker.

Our location is fantastic! The house is on East Palace Avenue, one of Santa Fe’s prettiest streets, just 5 lovely blocks from the Historic Plaza and 4 blocks to Canyon Road. The La Posada Hotel, with its wonderful spa and nice restaurant, is just two blocks away. The Santa Fe Pick-Up Shuttle has 4 stops along Canyon Road if you don’t feel like walking.

Perfect Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5
My comments about this casita would echo those of previous reviewers. The casita was spotlessly clean, very well appointed, roomy with two patios, and has an excellent location in a lovely, safe neighborhood. We were impressed also with the quality and taste of the art work and décor.

The only suggestions I would make would be regarding the fireplace and the bed. We arrived on a snowy night and wanted to have a fire. There was no paper, nor kindling and the starter lighter didn't work. The logs themselves were not enough to successfully ignite with matches. Also, the bed, while extremely comfortable for me, was way too soft and cushy for my husband, which caused him to have hip pain for the entire stay. Overall, though, I would highly recommend this casita to anyone wanting to experience Santa Fe in the comfort of "your own home away from home."

Great rental in Historic Eastside!

  • 5 of 5
Four nights in this cute house was simply not enough. The photographs do not do the place justice. The beds were comfortable, everything was well thought out and well stocked. The house had a nice little library of books and videos. It was clean, convenient and totally hassle-free! I wish we could have stayed longer!

The property was exactly as advertised. The casita was spotless and well-cared for. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need for cooking meals. The bed was SO comfortable. We could walk to the plaza and nearby restaurants. Although the property is on a busy street, the walled-in patio provided privacy for outdoor dining. We'd gladly stay here again!

The property was clean, well-decorated, and had a very well-stocked kitchen, both utensils and spices, oils, etc. Though close to the road, noise was never a problem. The outdoor gas grill was a joy to use and far better than any grill I have used at any rental property. The wireless printer was great for printing boarding passes for the trip home, though I had to get some paper from a card shop downtown. Location was superb for almost any activity.

Wonderful Place!

  • 5 of 5
Great time in Santa Fe plus really enjoyed this house. Good off street parking; nice kitchen with enough utensils and cooking items, etc. as we took advantage of the gas grill on the patio. Close to plaza and to most of areas; we tended to drive to areas. Bedrooms were nice and comfortable; had requested twin beds be put together to make a king (not done) but worked out great as our queen blow up mattress fit between them (after moving some furniture around); made a great area for the 2 small grandchildren to sleep. Made use of jetted tub in master; washer & dryer; wireless Internet; and the coffee pot--2 are available so you can use k-cups or regular pot with stainless carafe (cone shaped filters). Thinking of renting this place? Need just 2 bedrooms? Nice size master? Large showers in both baths? You have found it!

Fabulous time in Sante Fe

  • 5 of 5
This was my favorite vacation ever!!! Two couples, brother and sister and spouses in their 60's and 70's found the rental house perfect. It looked exactly like the photos and was well equipped and truly a 10-15 minute walk to the plaza. The property manager, Scott, was extremely responsive to a few questions and requests I had prior to the trip. I can't wait to come back. We enjoyed our trip to Bandolier National Park, and an interesting day in Madrid. Favorite restaurants were Café Pasqual and Galisteo. We needed another week to see all the things we wanted. I recommend this house to any group of 4 or less.
