We, two couples, had a fun stay in this wonderful riverfront cottage for three nights in March. The house worked very well for two couples with each bedroom having a bathroom attached. We especially enjoyed our evenings drinking wine out on the back deck overlooking the river, then having dinner in the spacious dining room. Kitchen is well equipped as is the entire house. We played golf both days so didn't have much time to explore the village. We would stay here again and would recommend it to others.
We spent Christmas and New Years in this wonderful home on the Carmel River. Baths and kitchen were great, large dining room with a view of the Carmel River. Enjoyed the breakfast nook off the kitchen. Television and internet were great. Close to dog-walking at the old land strip in Carmel Valley, the dog park in Carmel Valley, and Garland Regional Park. 20 minutes to Carmel dog-friendly beach. Owners were great to work with. Would definitely re-book and recommend. Neighborhood is great and neighbors are very friendly.
A wonderful property and a true home to really get away and relax. We had such a lovely weekend staying at the home and exploring Carmel Valley. The house was a perfectly set up for our family and dog. Plenty of room to spread out, loved the outdoor spots to get away and listen to the river. Our son LOVED the loft room upstairs, great escape for kids! If you take the 2 minute walk to the nearby watering hole before the sun hits the water around 10am, you will see schools of steelhead & crawdad.
Highlights and recommendations... a hike at Garland Park & walk on Carmel by the Sea Beach (dogs okay off leash at both), quick drive to the village for dinner @ Café Rustica (YUM!), super casual dinner outside with big fireplace @ Wickets Bistro next to Croquet lawn and of course just sitting by the river at the house and watching time pass. We will be back!
First I have to comment on the excellent cookware and sharp knives ( I always pack my own because they are usually substandard, at best )! As one of my girlfriends put it, the house was beautifully updated while retaining it's vintage charm. A perfect get away~relaxing retreat spot. I can't recommend this location enough. The owners were very pleasant and easy to correspond with.
We stayed here in August for 3 nights, and wished we could have stayed for longer. The house is in a peaceful residential road, and guests have the opportunity to sit by the river which backs onto the garden. The kitchen was well-equipped for home cooking. The house feels very spacious and there was plenty of room for a family with three children. A lot of care and thought has gone into the whole property, which was spotlessly clean when we arrived. A great location for families wishing to visit Carmel Valley, Monterey and Point Lobos. Highly recommended.
We recently stayed a week in this home. It was lovely. We were in Carmel Valley for our son's wedding. The house is exactly like the pictures. Sitting out on the deck, to watch the water gently flowing by was so relaxing, and just what we needed after a busy day of wedding activities.
Erica is perfect to deal with. She responded immediately to all our requests, and we received our deposit very quickly. There were ample towels and kitchen linens. The kitchen was well equipped.
We have nothing but good things to say about renting this house.
