The beauty and serenity of this unique location drew me in - I moved from Utah and fell in love with the house, its fabulous views and the charming area. This was my primary home, but my children grew up and now it's too big for me. I want to share this lovely spot with people from all over the globe!
I enjoy watching the surfers at Linda Mar Beach, the sunsets over the ocean and looking out at the beach/ocean from the decks, yet surrounded by the lovely Monterey Cypress and Eucalyptus trees.
The house was very spacious, charming , elegant and well taken cared of. It is very clean
Lots of towels, jacuzzi was great, view was phenomenal and tranquil.
We've been renting summer vacation houses for a few years and this is the first time I've been disappointed. The house is lovely with beautiful furniture in a beautiful, quiet area. The views of the ocean are mostly blocked by trees. However, the places where you can see the ocean are nice.
The grill was a complete mess. I spent some time cleaning it hoping to get it working. I cleaned out several pounds of ash and scrubbed everything only to find that the igniter was destroyed from what seemed to be a very big flare up from a previous use. It looked like the grill hadn't been cleaned for years, which probably led to the previous flare up. I'm surprised whomever experienced that flare up didn't burn down the house.
There was an outdoor heater that also did not work. The control switch was stuck in the on position and you could smell gas every time you walked passed it. I did turn of the main gas valve just to be save.
The hot tub is on the same level that the owner lives on and there are no lights so if you sit long enough for it to get dark make sure to bring a flash light. The cover for the hot tub had broken hinges making it difficult to full uncover.
Worst of all the front door was missing the door knob and the place where the door knob used to be was simply covered with paper and tape. Two of my children commented about how unsafe it was and how easy it would be for someone to break in by pushing their hand through the paper and unlocking the dead bolt. Seriously stress inducing.
All in all the house does not seem to be very well maintained. Almost nothing was functioning at 100%, (for example the espresso machine was missing a part making it impossible to make a latte). The turnover after each guest seems to be focused on cleaning and not on maintenance because in general the house was clean.
Because the location is so nice I would say it's a good place to stay if all you're looking for is a home base, somewhere to sleep (although the master bed was very rickety) while you site see in the daytime.
