Welcome to The River! We invite you to explore our third-floor condominium in the 1000 Islands of New York with spectacular views both up and down river.. Whether you're looking for boating, fishing, swimming, gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, or to simply get away from it all, you'll find what you're looking for here on Riverview Drive! Includes use of large boat slip in a multi-dock marina with immediate access to the river.
The Lohrmann family lives in Bloomington, Indiana where Dave is a professor and department chairperson at Indiana University. We wouldn't miss our annual trek to our Morristown condo near Ogdensburg, NY, Julie's hometown. Vacationing for several weeks each summer in this area has been a special experience for all of us including son, Nathan, and daughter, Chloe. For many years, we rented cottages on the river but these all had drawbacks including spiders, mice, questionable water quality, and limited docking access for our boat. Then, we were fortunate enough to acquire our modern condo with its own marina right on the river. As a family, we have enjoyed great experiences over the years and would love to share these possibilities with your family. That's why we are willing to make our condo available to families who will care for and cherish it like we do.
David Lohrmann purchased this condo in 2010
This well-maintained condo is great for you if you want a worry-free get-away on the water and includes a boat slip in the private marina just steps from the front door. The location is ideal for activities like tubing, skiing, swimming, fishing or just cruising on the mile-wide St. Lawrence River. Brockville, Canada is five minutes away by boat and has fine restaurants, shops and farmer's market. Numerous islands that can be day-trip destinations are just upriver from Brockville. Further upriver, Alexandria Bay and Clayton offer unique, sightseeing attractions, including a real castle! Canada's capital, Ottawa, is an easy 1.5 hour drive away, as is beautiful Blue Mountain in the Adirondacks. Both offer many unique sight-seeing attractions including world-class museums.
This condo is for you and your family if you like variety--water-activities, sight-seeing, nightlife, or just plain relaxation. The location can be quiet and serene without being isolated and there is so much to do on the river that our family seldom even turns on the television. If your job, like Dave's, requires you to stay connected through the web, you can do so through the high-speed internet connection. Hopefully, though, you can keep this to a minimum so you can truly enjoy your time at our Morristown condo.
What a wonderful place to stay, this is our second time at the condo and everything was great. Such an effortless place to stay with our family and boat, the public boat ramp is just next door and having a boat slip worked out great. The condo is so comfortable, we were also welcomed with fresh cut flowers and herbs and coffee! Everything you need is available. The views are amazing and there are some nice places to eat and also Wal-Mart, groceries, etc. close by. Easy access to Canada by boat or car, Ottowa is only a 1.5 hour drive, so it's nice to be able to do something different on a rainy day. Highly Recommend!
The check in was super easy... they were able to accommodate us with a later check in. The condo was super clean and tidy. Lots of fresh cut flowers through out that made it feel homey. The views are spectacular. The condo had every item that you might have left at home, from q-tips to lotions to hair spray. Which again made it a home away from home feel for us. We highly recommend this place to everyone and plan on staying again!
Nestled in the Thousand Islands village of Morristown, NY, our riverfront condominium provides a relaxing, picturesque setting for you to enjoy. With the all the amenities of home, free docking for your boat, nearby attractions and dining, and the eclectic Canadian town of Brockville across the River, your entertainment options are many. World-class sport-fishing abounds on the Saint Lawrence River and nearby Black Lake. Travel upriver and spend a day in paradise on one of the 1000 Islands, explore one of the many nearby shipwrecks in waters described as 'the world's best freshwater scuba diving destination', browse art galleries in the nearby river towns of Alexandria Bay and Clayton and the Remington Museum in Ogdensburg or visit Canada's capital city of Ottawa just an hour away.
