Our cabin is located 20 minutes (14 miles) north of Woodland Park in Westcreek, across the road from Pike National Forest. Going south on 67 and 24, we are 30 minutes from Pikes Peak, 40 minutes from Colorado Springs, and going north on 67, we are 10 minutes from Deckers, 60 minutes from the Town of Sedalia, and 90 minutes from Denver. Our newly constructed, 1000 sq. ft. lakeside cabin on a hillside is a mere seventy-five feet from the lake shore with a view of the entire lake, and is nestled among fifty-year-old giant pines. Babbling Westcreek feeds into the lake. We have a beautiful view of Thunderbutte Mountain and Sheep's Nose popular climbing areas. Westcreek is an old mining town with a colorful history.
There is total solitude, with deer and fox in the woods, a geese family, ducks, blue heron, beaver, hummingbirds, a red tail hawk, 3 golden eagles, 1 bald eagle. You must experience breakfast on the deck to hear and see the wildlife. The cold mountain lake reservoir is for enjoyment of the beauty, not for use by renters. Renters can fish and go tubing in the Platte River near Deckers and can swim in Woodland Park pools. There is every kind of sports and tourist activity nearby.

My grandchildren love the Wolf Preserve in Divide, Florissant Fossils, Pikes Peak Cog Railroad, Ghost Town, Cave of the Winds, Cave Dwellings, Santa's Workshop and amusement park, 7 Falls, Manitou shops, BBQ at Rudy's, donuts and ice cream at the Donut Mill, the wooden fort 'Play Park above the Clouds' behind McDonalds on Gateway School property in Woodland Park.
The cabin is new construction, fresh smelling and clean. Two bay windows, a slider, and other large windows provide awesome views from all rooms towards the lake. The master bedroom with private full bath has a dual control, Sleep Number queen bed. The daybed room sleeps two on twin mattresses and offers a computer with high speed internet. The bunk bed room sleeps four on twin mattresses, preferably for young people. A second full bath is available. The living room provides a wood burning stove with logs, DVD’s for a TV screen, a group seating arrangement for conversation, cards, games, and puzzles, and a reading area by one of the bay windows overlooking the piney woods and lake. The kitchen bench table seats eight in front of the second bay window overlooking the lake.
On the three-sided deck there are panoramic views and an eating table and beside the deck a grill. Under the giant pines you can enjoy an extra-long picnic table. You can walk 300 feet up the dirt road to a lakeside grill and picnic table near the beaver dams. We are close enough to everything, yet far enough to be away from it all, truly a cabin to replenish your soul.
