We love our house and the fact that we restored it and also live upstairs should both be important endorsements about the quality of the building and, specifically, this newly renovated apartment. The apartment has been designed to be on the ground level for two reasons: to have views of the gardens and to allow large rolling luggage to be taken directly from the sidewalk and down a short ramp and into the apartment (no stairs). There are additional advantages to which we would like to call to your attention. There is a rear yard for those who wish an outdoor sitting space. A laundry is available. Finally, and we like to think most importantly, much of the art in the apartment is original fine art from Africa. If there is interest in seeing more of it, we can arrange for a visit to Contemporary African Art Gallery without having to leave the building. The house was built to take advantage of views of Manhattan’s largest parks, Riverside Park, and the Hudson River.

The multi-cultural neighborhood that surrounds us contains elements that cater to the University community and those of us who are here longer. Within a few blocks of the house there are restaurants representing nine different nationalities; from French to Ethiopian. There are 2 gourmet, specialty food shops within 2 blocks of the house. Further, there are four venues for live jazz. We are happy to make recommendations.

Je dois dire que votre petit appartement nous a bien contenté. Nous avons l'habitude de descendre dans le même petit hotel dans east village. Pour à peu près le même prix, nous avons eu droit a une petite cuisinette. De plus, cela nous a permis de découvrir un autre quartie (Harlem et columbia university, Riverside park, Morning side park!), bref très bien situé.
Un seul conseil: le matelas et litteries seraient à changer !

Much better than a hotel

We had a wonderful time in New York. The cosey appartment is small but complete. The neighbourhood around the appartment is fantastic. There are many, many restaurants of all cultures. And the metro, the bus and even the Hudson are also very nearby.

It was a very nice place to stay! The apartment is small but comfortable, with everything you may need (including WiFi connection, laundry and drier) and the price is ok. It is near to a Subway station, so it is very easy to reach the major actractions of NYC. There are also a lot of stores and restaurants.
Bill is a very kind person and will give you help and suggestions.

Yes, you can in Morningside

This place is very nice. It had been a very good place to stay and the price is really honest. Few metro stop and you'll be everywhere in Manhattan. It's near to the Columbia and Harlem and Central Park, you really feel that you're staying in New York. The flat is comfortable, the bath is small but you have a buthtub with the shower and everything else that you need. The kicthen as enough stuff to prepare your dinner after a logn day of walking trough the Big Apple. The hood's nice, many drugstores and different tipe of restaurant. Bill Karg's a nice and kind person, you'll be helped in anything. We are a couple, and it's been the perfect place to stay. That's it, sorry for my awful english.
